On April 30, 2017, Jiffy movers scratched and gouged the floors at ***, the house from which we had just sold and were moving from on April 30, by dragging furniture over them and gouging other areas including the noses of wooden stairs over a century old. On the same day, Jiffy movers moved our furniture into our new address, ***. In doing so, the movers scratched, gouged, dented our furniture, and tore upholstery, which we discovered bit by bit as we unpacked boxes, etc. We took photos as we encountered the damage.
We have given JiffyMove ample opportunity to rectify the damage done in our move. We complained to JiffyMove the day after the move was done, when we saw the floors in the old house. We had to call many, many times to get any action and actually got none until we said we thought we'd have to go the Revdex.com for help.
We complained again as we discovered the damage done to our own belongings at ***. Same run-around.
It took us 3 months to get the floors taken care of at *** Even then, I do not yet know whether the job was satisfactory, as I haven't talked to the new owners lately. It was an unpleasant, time-consuming, stressful uphill battle.
Now we are experiencing the same delay tactics at *** as we did with the floors at ***
JiffyMove owner, Tim, came to see the damage last Thursday, May 3, and said he'd have his handy man give us a call to come and assess the damage. He'd take care of it (within reason, of course), but we'd probably have to find a person able to repair the upholstery, JiffyMove to cover the costs. This is not a very attractive proposal for us, as it means we must go to the trouble of finding a skilled upholsterer who can mend tears for what amounts to some small discreet areas.
In any case, a full week later, JiffyMove's handyman has not given us a call.

I am aware of the concerns of this customer. I did meet with ***'s husband and was awaiting an answer as how they would like to proceed. I did let him know we had a furniture repair man and if after speaking with ***, they would like him to come by, just let me know. Instead this complaint was filed.
Please do have your repair man assess the damage and let me know your findings so we may come up with a solution.

Yes, we agree to JiffyMove looking at the repair quote, which we just received yesterday and will forward. However, to have JiffyMove look at the quote is all we've agreed here because it's all that's been offered. Of course, it's to be expected that JiffyMove would need to look at the quote before committing to a solution. However, we do expect JiffyMove to respond to this quote with all due speed and in the spirit of concluding this complaint. We didn't cause this situation, and we have done more enough chasing after JiffyMove for a solution. Frankly, we are suspicious that JiffyMove is using another means to delay doing anything about our complaint.

We are satisfied with this proposed resolution, as it covers the estimated repair cost. Please note that we expect the cheque for $1295 to arrive by mail to our home address by the end of this month, November 2017. Any delay past this date will leave us with no hesitation in re-opening the case.
Jiffy Move was amazing. This was our first time booking with this company. We chose them from their online ad based on all the positive, current reviews. We were blown away by their professionalism on moving day. Our movers, Glen & his team (Jesse & Mark) were awesome. They were polite, fast and really looked after our belongings. They worked together well and were a lot of fun. We can't say enough about how impressed we were with this team. We will definitely book with them again and I encourage others to do the same. Ask for Glen, you won't be disappointed.
