Encapsulated crawl space and dehumidifier installed . And one joist sistered .
JES should be proud of the employees they have . Frank N . Came on a Wednesday . He steadily worked all day long . Thursday and Friday he came back out with TJ P. They worked well together. Frank was wonderful explaining procedures to us . When he needed to instruct TJ about something he was teaching him ,he was so calm and patient . On Monday Anthony M. Came and TJ came out to do the sistering of a joist . Anthony was cautious and explained everything step by step . Also talked to my husband on the phone to explain what needed to be done on the joist. This joist had been repaired before we moved here and had been nailed not screwed which made it difficult to sister . Anthony had to work around that . He took his time , assuring us that if the inspector did not approve it or we didn’t like the way it was done he would come back out and redo it . These three men were so professional . I can not say enough about JES’s employees. Frank and Anthony being in charge of the job were fantastic. Tj was there to assist and he listened and followed through. I would so use this company again . I give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

cannot recommend
The install occurred months after the contract signing, there were several errors and damage to the property during the install. The phone and internet lines were cut both inside and outside the house. The installer did not know what exactly he was supposed to do and delayed the job making multiple phone calls to determine the system install needed- a lot of confusion. Major problems getting the phone and internet lines repaired/replaced. Lot of stress dealing with all the problems. No contact afterwards, did not return calls, or emails simply no response. Now the office has closed, wonder why? The records have not been moved so apparently, no one knows anything about the expensive system installed. In the contract the system is to be inspected and maintained annually, they don't have the records so nothing has been scheduled for the maintenance/inspection and the sump service. I honestly cannot recommend JES and I am very concerned about how to manage getting the inspections and service done.

Beware!!! This company is notorious for very, very high pricesI recently received multiple estimates for the same work and JES was [redacted] more than anyone else!! They have a great sales pitch and are very professionalI hear they also do good work, but there profit margin is huge!!! I have talked to multiple contractors who have all told me the same thingMy most trusted contractor told me that he doesn't know how they sleep at night given their fleecing of naive customersSo please, please just shop around before using this company!!

I am pleased to give this review of JESFrom the guy that came by and evaluated the issue, developed a plan and worked up the cost to the guy who scheduled the different aspects of the work to the guys that did the actual work this was a painless and flawless processThe guys at my house kept me up to date and engaged in the entire process and I was completely at ease with them working in, on and around my houseI would highly reommend these guys for any and all work you need done in their wheel house

I'm writing this while attempting to work with the company to resolve my issue
I contacted JES due to a significant crack in one of my walls and a known sinking area of my house The Inspector, who is not an Engineer (they advertise Engineers on their home page) and is what I thought I was getting, searched my crawl space He did not find anything under the area where the crack is, made note of another area that had potential for being a problem, found some mildew, dropped and wet insulation (known by me) and a warped joist under the known sinking area To my surprise, since my home inspector did not catch this when I purchased the house, that joist had two large holes cut through for piping which seemingly compromised the integrity of the joist
The work agreed upon was to remove the insulation, insulate the outside of the crawl space instead of replace the insulation between joists along with sealing off vents, install a dehumidifier (which does increase electrical bills and I have no information for), sister the damaged joist, and install one jack (per recommendation) Note, another contractor did want to install two supports but I went with JES due to the type of jack, but they did not recommend two Also, the sister job consisted of cutting plywood to fit in between the I Joist in all areas except where the holes are, essentially thickening the joist along most of the span on both sides
Since the install I have noticed that the original crack has gotten worse, but more importantly, new cracking of drywall, drywall tape warped and settling around the jack area (doors not closing) Additionally, my floors are cold and my electric bill is higher (more expansion / contraction)?
This leads me to a big problem that I have with JESscheduling and communication
Back to the beginning The first available date to do the work was more than a month after signing the contract I was given a day and told they would need half a day to set the foundation for the jack and remove insulation and a day to install the jack, de-humidifier and new exterior insulation I couldn't be there on the install day, but they didn't need access to the house on this dayHowever, I had a friend stay just in case The workers did not make it at all that day and the company did not notify me; just a no show and wasted my friends timeI obviously complained about this and asked for specifics as to what would be done each day JES could not give me this After going round and round about it, I finally talked to someone who told me the job was always going to take days (first I heard of it) and was able to let me know what they were doing each day We rescheduled the install and it was completed during install, I had a question as to whether sistering the joist in the manner they did was right They answered my question and I trusted that they knew what they were doing Additionally, I asked for pictures and info for the dehumidifierThey gave me pictures after a little hassle (very poor quality pictures BTW but no info) Due to the communication and scheduling issues I had, they offered me free annual service
Fast forward to now since I deployed soon after the work I scheduled my annual service before getting off deployment for mid-December, about a month out On the morning of, the service rep called and said he could not come because of something that happened to him on Friday and the company would be in contact to reschedule I immediately hung up the phone and called the company They told me that the service rep was booked until the end of January I told them that was unacceptable as I was now home and seeing new damage to my home, plus that's just ridiculous I told them that I didn't request or need THAT service rep and to just give me someone who could do a good jobThey rescheduled with another rep for the middle of January The morning of the new date, I was contacted and informed that the scheduled rep would not be coming, but at least an alternate would make it out This Rep did come, took note of all of the new damage and took pictures Additionally, he noted that the jack did need adjustment but could not do too much without a helper inside and, A VERY IMPORTANT POINT, asked if I had declined jacks because he thought it would have been better To his credit, he called the next day and said he had a cancellation, but I could not accommodateThe business failed to call me to schedule this, I had to contact them weeks later (they blamed the rep) when I told them of my dissatisfaction with scheduling and potentially the work since I have more damage They have not scheduled the jack service and "are gathering data" and I am looking for an independent structural engineer (since they did not use theirs) for an assessment
I hope to work with the company to resolve my issues without incurring significant additional costs

Don't use this company if you want to work with honest people that care about your homeOur experience with this company has been atrocious and beyond frustratingWe are still tryimg to get them to finish this job as we file this review
The sales man gave a great pitch and we elected to have a Smart Jack System and Crawlspace Encapsulation System with Sump pumps installed
They told us the work would be performed from under the house and we wouldn't even need to be home! Great news for us as we both work full time and have dogsWe signed the contractIt was adjusted twice more and the price went up because the salesperson left stuff out of the original
They began the work and we were informed that they couldn't do the work from under the house and that we would have to have a whole cut in the living get room floor to get the work doneThen our whole living room floor needed to be removed, then the fireplace had to be removed, the chimney was damaged and left dangling from the ceiling supported on a 2x4, then they needed to add concrete footers, then they had to remove the dining room and bathroom floors, including the sink and toilet
They completed the new flooring and installed it higher than the floor they removedThis left us without the use of the bathroomWe now have a step down into our kitchen, and the bathroom floor was put in so high the light switch is at wheelchair heightWe had to have a plumber pull a permit to have the water for the sink and the toilet raised up to reach the floor.Â
We asked many times for the engineer to come to look at another issue and he never came
First we needed jacks and Beams, we actually now have and beamThe sump pump was placed in an area that the water will need to go up hill to get intoThe communication has been terrible, unanswered emails and always a reason why the people we need to talk to are conveniently not in the office, on vacation or on a conference call
They left our house with unsecured walls, open gaps around the entire room perimeter, they cut inches of the patio door, the chimney leaks when it rains, and is dangling from the exposed ceiling and propped on a 2xWe sent many emails with pictures and had to really push for any acknowledgment of our concernsThey did not address it until they failed the first final inspection
The workers who don't speak English well, tell us one thing, and then management does anotherThe gentlemen that came to visit the house before the work began, told us he advised them not to continue with the job as it could not be done from under the house. They left so much dust and dirt on everything we are still cleaning it off things
The permits were pulled and all things in the permit needed to be inspected by the county, they used a third party company that doesn't work in our county, without our knowledgeThe work they did was not to code, and they failed the county inspectionsWe  waited weeks to hear from them regarding the failed inspectionWe emailed and The General Manager, Mr.WRudich called , he was totally unprepared and told us he would definitely be calling on Tuesday October 11thWe did not hear from anyoneThey just don't care. The weather is getting colder and we have no flooring downWe expected some drywall cracking due to the jack system, but our doors don't open properly, the deadbolt on our front door doesn't line up anymore!
The salesman stopped responding to our calls, the management just don't care
They took multiple photos from underneath so knew ahead of the job what the conditions were under the houseWe have asked for these pictures and not been given a copy
The week job started in June, we would like them to release us from the contract as we now longer trust them to do the work
The salesman stopped responding to our calls, the management just don't care. They failed the final inspection...twice!! They haven't apologised just argued with us and the inspector about itTheir business practices are awfulHaving failed the inspections multiple times we no longer trust the work that has been done or that they will even complete itIt has been weeks since the last failed inspection and we haven't heard anything from them about how they intend to proceedWe asked for pictures of the work as it progressed and yet again we did not receive any
Based on our experience with this company I wouldn't recommend them to anyoneI could go on but I have reached my frustration level and they don't care

We contracted with them for a simple trench drench around the sunroom of our house and I am appalled at the quality of work we received! There is a complete lack of attention to detail and after two attempts to complete the job, it is still unsatisfactoryThe first attempt at the job resulted in a pipe buried less than two inches underground, an unlevel sump pump, an exposed power cord for the sump pump running across the yard, and several other unsatisfactory issuesConsiduring the high price we paid, I expected a high quality jobAt our request the engineer who contracted the job came out to inspectHe said he was extremely disappointed with the job and the company would make it rightHowever his thoughts must not have been relayed to the company because the same crew returned along with a supervisor to fix the problemsWe had to explained to them how and why the power cord should be buried and request the drain pipe be buried deeper than they intended, all common sense things which weren't being addressed by the supervisorThey left leaving the drain pipe butted up against the side of the drain which will severely limit the effectiveness of the drain, they covered our sprinkler heads with dirt, and did not leave the landscaping stones as they found themAgain a complete lack of attention to detailThere were also other issues which are not detailed hereI will not recommend this company to anyone

JES installed push piers along one side of our garage and one corner of our 2-story house with basement The foundation had been sinking The evidence was cracks in the mortar between cinder blocks Push piers are one means of stabilizing a foundation that is sinking The work was completed in days and appears to be a satisfactory solution to the problem Some of the work required a bit of creativity because of a missing portion of footer My only disappointment is that JES does nothing more than stabilize the foundation, and this was explained to me before signing the contract Consequently the cracks are still visible Now I must find another contractor to patch the cracks and reapply parging
JES also injected polyurethane foam under the garage floor because it had been sinking It required visits, but the floor is now back to its original level

Professional from beginning to job completionJohn and his crew answered all questions and ensured I was comfortable with the work being performed and happy with the job completionIf your thinking about mudjacking, don't!! Get the polyfoam fill instead...better bang for the buck!!!
