This company installed the HVAC system in our home prior to our purchase and the prior owner bought a service contract which was transferrable to us In January I had them come out to perform a service check, which includes checking and changing filters The homeowner is to provide the filter and they will change it The technician who came looked barely out of high school and could not perform the check as he could not figure out how to access the unit (which was installed by this company) I asked him to report that back to the office as I did not feel we got a complete service check I never heard back from anyone following that visit In retrospect, I should have raised the red flag then but I was naive to expect the tech to notify the office that the work was not done and have someone else come Lesson learned This week I scheduled our spring AC check and specifically asked for an experienced tech due to the problems last go round The tech that came out today was great, very professional, and indeed could access the unit Because the filer was not checked or changed during the January visit, due to the incompetence of the technician, it was in desperate need of a change I was advised they will charge $to change the filter because I did not have a filter on hand After explaining that the last tech did not check it, and I provided written proof, the company is still unwilling to change the filter unless I pay $for the filter While the tech was great this go round, the customer service of Steve, the owner, is atrocious He is willing to forego having us as a repeat customer over a $filter because he hires teenagers who are poorly trained and incompetent If you do decide to use this company, ensure you get someone who knows what they are doing, because the owner will not make it right if they fail to do their job right the first time
