Jefferson Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center

On August 14th, I had my lower left molar extracted. I have dental insurance but am still in the waiting period. I was told by Jefferson Oral health that I had to pay $750.00 upfront. I did pay for my extraction with my ***. I was informed by ***, my dental insurance company that Jefferson Oral was not supposed to charge me their office rate of $750, but was to charge me $522, the contracted rate. The dental office also tried to file a claim with my Medicare *** which does not include dental coverage, and I told them this, but they still went on with the claim which was denied. I called Jefferson Oral numerous times and they kept giving me the runaround telling me that they are waiting for the claim to be posted. I am owed $228.00 and at the present am still waiting to be reimbursed. When I spoke with ***, they told me that they mailed out a copy of claims and called and also spoke with the office manager from Jefferson Oral and were again informed that they were only supposed to charge me the contracted rate of $522.00 and not their office rate of $750.00. Jefferson told them that they were looking into issuing me a discount. I do not want a discount but a reimbursement of $228. Paying that $750.00 took a big chunk from my checking account.
