I was on the bus for more than 15 hours and had WiFi for only one hour. Every time I tried too connect it said “exceeded 100Mb data check back n 2hours” which I did for the long 15 plus hour ride, but it kept saying “100 Mb exceeded check back in 2 hours.” What a cheat! Jefferson bus lines have low scruples.
Dear Mr.,
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Service may be interrupted or unavailable in certain areas due to vehicle mobility.
Sincerely,
Jefferson L
Interrupted due to mobility? For more than twelve hours? Sounds like a big fat excuse.
On Nov. 17-17, I travelled by bus from Iowa City to Jackson MN. After stopping at Albert Lea, MN, I got back on the bus and soon found myself going north instead of west , on the wrong bus. My mistake? I think not, here's why. First, the buses were not carrying a destination on their front, as they used to in bygone days. Second, my ticket did not mention a transfer of buses, only a layover. Third, the driver did not make an announcement regarding transfers. In fact, when I boarded this particular bus in Des Moines and asked this driver if this was the correct bus, he barely grunted a reply.
I hopped off at the next stop north and called customer service to get a ticket back to
Albert Lea where I stayed in a motel overnight and caught the one daily bus to Jackson the next morning. Customer service was grudgingly helpful and actually suggested I
take the southbound bus back to Des Moines, a bus west to Omaha and around that way to Jackson, which I figure would take 25 hours, assuming all fast connections.
In fairness, the last two drivers I had were competent, inquiring upon boarding, "where are you going?" and announcing stops, etc.
All of the inconvenience I experienced ( and witnessed of others, too) could easily be avoided if 1) The tickets had large print for the departure/destination on them--Drivers were trying to read them in poor light at 3:30 am.
2) If the ticket indicated a" transfer"- the usual term for changing buses.
3) If the buses had carried their destination on the front; in this case "Minneapolis."
4) If all the drivers were trained and courteous.
