[redacted] The balance for the additional knife sheath was not paid at that time The Complainant also left me an additional belt to do some repairs on.At a later date, the Complainant called me to cancel the order of the knife sheath on Sales Order # [redacted] I noted the cancellation on my copy by scratching the order of the sheath out In the meantime, I had completed the two custom sized belts for him and let him know they were done.On a later date, the Complainant came in to pick up his finished belts At that time, he brought in the original knife sheath that I had reinforced and asked me to change the dome snap hardware closure on it to a totally different method of closure (a Sam Brown Button) Normally, addition of this type of closure would be done before the sheath is sewn together I completed the addition of the Sam Brown Button on the sheath and I believed I had satisfied his request/need at that time The Complainant then left the store and took the new belts with himHe did not mention he was dissatisfied with the belts at that time No additional monies changed hands at that time.On a date after that, the Complainant returned and brought the belts back to me complaining that they weren't hand stamped in the manner in which he thought they should be He had removed his buckles from the belts He also brought back the new knife sheath I had completed on June 15, 2017, with the dome snap closure hardware removed and asked for a Sam Brown Button to be added to it, which I did.It was at that time, the Complainant said he was not happy with the work I had completed for him on the belts I told him I would take the belts back and refunded him the $in cash for the belts Because the second Sam Brown Button did not set properly on the new sheath, I gave the Complainant new Sam Brown hardware It was at this time, he picked up his knife and sheath that he had previously left for me to make the third sheath, plus the additional belt I had repaired for him I did not charge him for those repairs It was also at that time, the Complainant accused me of keeping additional money that he had allegedly paid me I retrieved my copies of the Sales Orders to show him what he had paid I have no paperwork for monies received on the cancelled knife sheath.I then asked the Complainant to return with the paperwork I had previously given him as he didn't have it with him at the time, to show me that I had acknowledged receipt of this additional $ The Complainant then left the store after he said to me that "there would be retribution" for the non-return of his money.Until September 20, 2017, I had not heard from the Complainant nor had he returned with the paperwork proving he had paid the additional $ I would be happy to refund the money with proof of same.To the best of my knowledge, these are the events that happened It is my practice to write down all incoming orders and make note of any money received as a deposit and/or provide a cash register receipt I feel I had satisfied the Complainant's requests at the time of each occurance At no time, did I raise my voice to him After further discussion with the Complainant on that date, I felt I would not be given a chance to make good on his complaints to redo the work, so I refunded his money as is our unwritten policy with an unhappy customer, if they will not take replacement goods or allow me to redo the job.Yours truly,JAMES BUILT SADDLERYMiriam James

20, 2017, the following is my recollection of events and copies of order/payment from said Complainant. On June 10, 2017, the said Complainant came into our store and provided me with a hand drawing of a knife sheath that he wanted me to manufacture for a specific knife, plus some copper rivets for me to use on his projects. He also brought in an additional knife sheath that he wanted taken apart, reinforced with additional leather, and add the new swivel loop system, he designed, to it. He also brought in a belt that he wanted me to add loops to and re-stitch it together. I wrote up a Sales Order (#[redacted]), a copy of which is attached. At that time, he paid me $100 cash as a deposit, which I noted on the order sheet. On June 15, 2017, I completed the work on his original knife sheath, a new one and the belt repairs, and wrote up another Sales Order sheet (#[redacted], copy of which is attached) setting out the final cost of the work done. On June 16, 2017, the Complainant came into the store, paid the balance of $151.37 cash for the work. At that time, the customer had additional work he wanted completed. As far as I was aware at that time, he was satisfied with both knife sheaths and the belt repairs. I have 3 photos of the newly completed knife sheath available upon request. On June 16, 2017, the Complainant wanted 2 new belts made as per a sample he had supplied, plus an additional knife sheath. See Sales Order #[redacted] The Complainant provided 2 buckles for me to put on the new belts and we discussed the hand tooled pattern he wanted on the belts. The Complainant picked out the style he wanted for a third sheath from a sample I have on display. The Complainant paid me $160.00 cash to pay for the belts, which I noted on Sales Order #[redacted] The balance for the additional knife sheath was not paid at that time. The Complainant also left me an additional belt to do some repairs on.At a later date, the Complainant called me to cancel the order of the knife sheath on Sales Order #[redacted] I noted the cancellation on my copy by scratching the order of the sheath out. In the meantime, I had completed the two custom sized belts for him and let him know they were done.On a later date, the Complainant came in to pick up his finished belts. At that time, he brought in the original knife sheath that I had reinforced and asked me to change the dome snap hardware closure on it to a totally different method of closure (a Sam Brown Button). Normally, addition of this type of closure would be done before the sheath is sewn together. I completed the addition of the Sam Brown Button on the sheath and I believed I had satisfied his request/need at that time. The Complainant then left the store and took the new belts with him. He did not mention he was dissatisfied with the belts at that time. No additional monies changed hands at that time.On a date after that, the Complainant returned and brought the belts back to me complaining that they weren't hand stamped in the manner in which he thought they should be. He had removed his buckles from the belts. He also brought back the new knife sheath I had completed on June 15, 2017, with the dome snap closure hardware removed and asked for a Sam Brown Button to be added to it, which I did.It was at that time, the Complainant said he was not happy with the work I had completed for him on the belts. I told him I would take the belts back and refunded him the $160.00 in cash for the belts. Because the second Sam Brown Button did not set properly on the new sheath, I gave the Complainant new Sam Brown hardware. It was at this time, he picked up his knife and sheath that he had previously left for me to make the third sheath, plus the additional belt I had repaired for him. I did not charge him for those repairs. It was also at that time, the Complainant accused me of keeping additional money that he had allegedly paid me. I retrieved my copies of the Sales Orders to show him what he had paid. I have no paperwork for monies received on the cancelled knife sheath.I then asked the Complainant to return with the paperwork I had previously given him as he didn't have it with him at the time, to show me that I had acknowledged receipt of this additional $80.00. The Complainant then left the store after he said to me that "there would be retribution" for the non-return of his money.Until September 20, 2017, I had not heard from the Complainant nor had he returned with the paperwork proving he had paid the additional $80.00. I would be happy to refund the money with proof of same.To the best of my knowledge, these are the events that happened. It is my practice to write down all incoming orders and make note of any money received as a deposit and/or provide a cash register receipt. I feel I had satisfied the Complainant's requests at the time of each occurance. At no time, did I raise my voice to him. After further discussion with the Complainant on that date, I felt I would not be given a chance to make good on his complaints to redo the work, so I refunded his money as is our unwritten policy with an unhappy customer, if they will not take replacement goods or allow me to redo the job.Yours truly,JAMES BUILT SADDLERYMiriam James
