Jackson's Falls Country Inn

To whom it may concern,
I booked a room reservation with the Jackson's Falls Country Inn on January 12, 2020. With the booking, a 50% down payment of the total room cost was required. Up front, I paid 50% of the room. As per their cancellation policy, a full refund of the initial 50% down payment would be given at no additional cost as long as a 7 day cancellation notice was given.
On April 16, 2020, I requested a cancellation of my room which had been booked for May 30-31, 2020 (1 night stay). Thus, providing the Inn with a 45 day notice period (much more advanced notice than a 7 day period).I did not receive a response via email or phone. I contacted the Inn many times throughout April into May and left voicemails and emails, still failing to receive a response. Finally, May 5, 2020, the Inn responded and advised they were unable to pay me back my refund at this time. Legally, as per their policy, it is my understanding that they have a due diligence to abide by the cancellation policy written all over their website and email confirmations of providing and issuing the 50% down payment back to the customer.
