Mr [redacted] came into our office and had his return prepared The preparer said she asked him about expenses for his rental but wasn't given any information to put on the return After he signed the return - essentially agreeing 100% with what was entered - he went home and somehow "found" expenses he previously hadn't known about He bought his own software and tried to amend the return himself. When my manager heard that he was unhappy about the return he had us prepare for him, she offered to amend it for free When I heard about the situation, I asked for a copy of the amended return he prepared and noticed numerous errors on the various forms I offered to amend it for free as well Mr [redacted] decided to decline our offers and file his own error-filled return. We filed the original return he had us prepare The same return he signed for, thus declaring that it was 100% accurate The simple question is that if he had known of rental expenses at the time of preparation, and knew that he was never asked about them, knew that they were never entered on the return, why did he sign it and authorize us to file it without the expenses? We filed what he brought in, he didn't like the results and is now trying to get a refund for work we did But the information on the return that we filed was the exact information he presented to us on the day of preparation Even so, we offered on several occasions to "fix" the return for free so he would have the final return properly filed that he desired But all of these offers were declined

Review: I went to Jackson Hewitt Tax Services inside of Walmart in Williston, North Dakota to help with my tax preparation. This storefront is owned by [redacted] and Jackson Hewitt Tax Services of [redacted].
I am not satisfied with the service provided and my tax preparation was incorrect. My tax professional did not appear to be very experienced with my tax situation and seemed to rush through my tax preparation.
Not being satisfied, I decided to use the online service Turbo Tax. The online service asked more questions that fit my tax situation and was able to provide me with a more accurate tax return.
I contacted [redacted], my Jackson Hewitt Tax Professional and told her that my taxes were prepared incorrectly and that I would like a refund. She spoke with her boss, [redacted] and they informed me that they would not refund me. They did offer to fix my tax return, but I declined because I no longer trusted them.
I was then referred to speak with [redacted], the owner of the Jackson Hewitt franchise in question. He again refused to refund me for the incorrect service.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the incorrect services provided, in the amount of $417.00.
