On December 30, 2019, at 6:06 pm I went to the drive through at Jack-in-the-Box at ***. I requested a purchase of a Jumbo Jack and 2 tacos. The total price including the tax was $6.24. I currently still have my receipt. I handed the employee, a black man, first the 24 cent. I asked him to count it to make sure he sees that it is correct. He said, yes. Then I handed him a one dollar bill and underneath the one dollar bill I handed him a $20.00 bill. I am positive that it was a $20.00 bill because I had two 20s in my wallet. As I was handing him up the money, because I had to reach upward, I could see the $20.00 bill underneath the one dollar bill. The black employee handed me my order. I forgot about my change. So I parked my car and went inside the Jack-in-the-Box to receive my $15.00 change. This black man said that I gave him the exact amount owed which was a $5.00 bill and a one dollar bill with the 24 cents. I said no I did not. I was infuriated. Then this black woman manager, I believe her name is Ashley asked me to right down my name and phone number I she will count her till in the morning and get back with me. I did provide my name and phone and she never called me. I want my $15.00 change. The problem here is the black man who I handed my money to thought that because I wanted to make sure the 24 cent was the right amount that I was giving him the exact amount of the order. So I don't think he even paid any attention to the $20.00 bill. He just mistaken thought it was a $5.00 without even looking because the one dollar was showing on top from his visual perceptive. He should have counted the money prior to entering the amount the customer paid as $6.24. He must have just entered the amount and then place the money in the cash register without counting it first. He clearly was not being careful.
