Customer presented a [redacted] After listening to customer's description of the problem, and listening to th emotor run, I determine that the engine needed a new Knock Sensor.I explained to customer that I would charge $for labor plus whatever for parts(see repair authorization)The engine compartment of a [redacted] is small and compact thus requiring the disassembly of several engine functions in order to access the target location; and more often than not worn parts are revealed in the process.In this case I discovered worn and rusty/rotten water hoses/fittings; (see attached photos) and most importantly the intake manifold gasket was worn and broken.When I advised the customer of the situation and that there would be added cost for parts, he became angry and told me to reassemble the engine "As IS".My conscience and sense of honesty would not allow me to follow his instructionsI attempted to explain the risks of failing to replace these parts.After much discussion, customer agreed to authorize the cost of the partsClaimimg he was short of money he promised to pay for the parts in weeks
