This is Kevin the Owner of J&K Marine. [redacted] contacted me directly and after looking into it my business office manager had been in contact with him and was mailing the title out that day. It had inadvertently ended up being sent to a different store than he picked his boat up and...
through a miscommunication between store managers it was not forwarded on to him. Every thing should be resolved.
When the customer came into pick up the boat he was not charged anymore money than the original estimate. The fact of the matter is we do not put time into disassembling damaged lower units to inspect the integrity of the part only to re-use them. It would cost the consumer more to use the old parts from the damaged lower unit because of time invested disassembling it. When the motor was brought in a second time (over 3 months later)it was getting an alarm. After inspection it was not due to the original work that we did on the lower unit. The policy of J & K Marine is to stand behind our work 100%, and we do. We gave our recommendations on what needed to be done to repair the issues but he was unwilling to make the investment. We can not work on customers motors for free because they don't want to make the investment themselves. We consider this matter closed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

replacing lower unit. Three months later customer brought boat in for an alarm issue. We diagnosed problem and estimated repair of work with new parts. This was not in the customers budget so as a compromise we found a used part to address half of the work that was recommended. customer ok'd work at that time. We were working with customer and felt it was a good compromise due to budget restraints. We ran motor at shop and did not get an alarm. Customer took boat back and got alarm. Customer did not want to proceed with following shops advice due to budget constraints.
