This letter is to inform your office that a refund has been processed for *** *** and mailed directly to himIt is very unfortunate that his choice of purchase did not work out for him and that he did not take our recommendation and purchase the Toyota Solara as advised. *** ***J

We have received your inquiry as noted above on September 8, as filed by *** ***, We have been in business since and are a very reputable shop here in the Coachella ValleyWe have over the years worked as a professional consultant on several cases with the Bureau of
Automotive RepairWe take great pride in standing behind our work and are backed by a national Napa Warranty Program and have always taken care of our customers. Ms*** did contact us and bring in her vehicle to have the leaking valve cover gasket replacedWe did so and in the process found a " rubber hose behind the valve cover gasket going to the throttle body that was crimped and required replacementThe hose had not been previously replaced as you must remove the plenum assembly to see itIt is not uncommon to have such minor incidentals in the course of a repairAs it was such a minor thing and there was no additional charge for the hose or the labor we replaced the crimped hose as a courtesyWe explained this but It appears that Ms*** did not quite understandWhen Ms. *** arrived to pick up the vehicle we advised her that we did not inspect any of the vehicles other leaks, and again reviewed the repair we made and advised her that the steel tubes and pipe to the throttle body are rusted and deteriorating. Ms***'s male companion called the next day about a puff of white smoke and some sort of leakWe asked that they bring the vehicle back in to be inspected to determine the problem as with the various leaks on the vehicle the complaint that our repair was at fault could not be assumedWe now know that they decided to tow it to a friend's house instead of to our shop, Ms***'s companion did call again on September 6th to say the vehicle was being towed inThe vehicle still has not arrived. We are a Napa Auto Care Center and if she is having difficulty getting the vehicle back in she could try contacting them at 1-800-let-naps and explain the situationShe may be able to get it looked at in Palm Springs under the warranty if the issue is a result of our repairWe strongly recommend she do this as doing nothing and continuing to drive the vehicle could cause further damageWe cannot be accountable for issues that are undiagnosed and obviously in need of repair. In conclusion, as requested by Ms*** we replaced the leaking valve cover gasket and there were no additional charges for the rubber hose and the total bill was less than the original phone quote of $It is very unlikely that our repair is the cause of her vehicles current issueAs noted earlier and on her work orderfinvoice the vehicle has many leaks, We feel that Ms***'s request for a refund is unsubstantiated.
