Do not EVER, EVER, EVER hire this person to sealcoat your driveway. Our story: In 2021 we hired JC Sealcoat to pressure-wash, prepare, and sealcoat our driveway. This was done sometime in the summer when the weather was cooperative. Over the following winter the sealcoat failed; it stripped away from the underside of the driveway. We called the owner, and he assured us that he would return and redo the job. After visiting the failed work, he noted at the time that the asphalt was improperly mixed and was too thin to withstand the New England weather. The owner, Jim, told us that we were 'on the schedule' to return. He never did. He even had the audacity to leave his power washing machine in our yard all summer and fall, just so we'd think he was returning. When we were away from home he came to retrieve the washer; we never heard from him again. We called and called and received NO response. This man, owner of JC Sealcoat, lives about a half mile from us; it would have been nothing for him to come and correct his mistakes. Do not ever hire this man to do anything for you; you'll never have it done correctly. He's a total incompetent, unethical, and a liar.

Review: Company quoted a cost to seal residence driveway. We hired them to do the job. The product was too "watered down" and cracks were not filled in. We were asked to pay more money to fill in the cracks, which we did. The product that was used washed out after a few rain storms.

We were told our driveway would be entirely done over at no further cost to us, but they have not delivered.Desired Settlement: Finish the job or refund some of our money so we can get it done.

Review: My husband and I had our driveway seal coated in the fall of 2013. It was a perfect week for sealcoating- dry, sunny, warm weather. The following spring (April 2014) we noticed the driveway was peeling noticeably in many areas. My husband contacted the owner of the company ([redacted]) and he came to our house for an inspection. He agreed that the entire driveway needed to be redone. It was apparent that the coating had been watered down too much. [redacted] agreed to return to our house when the weather became warmer in order to scrape and redo (sealcoat) the entire driveway. When he did not return in May or early June, we called again to let him know that we would be away on vacation the entire last week of June, and it would be a perfect time to redo our driveway. He agreed that if the weather cooperated he would do the work that week, and if not, he would return another time during the summer. It is now the second week of September and we have not heard from [redacted]. We would like him to refund our money since my husband is now taking time off from work to sealcoat the driveway himself.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund (approximately $300) and others to know that [redacted] (JC Sealcoating) does not correct his errors and makes promises he does not keep. JC Sealcoating flyers are distributed on our street annually, and I would hate to see others pay for a service which is incorrectly done.
