J. Benson Construction Corporation

J. Benson Construction has been the most difficult company to work with. They were always 2 weeks later than when they scheduled their construction. They switched supervisors mid construction and did not pass on notes so I had to go through everything with them again. My only request was a phone call the day before construction so I could get my dogs out of the house and they never did it once even after reminding them. They tried to double charge me for my additional repairs saying that they "forgot to put it on the first invoice" of which it is clearly there in the exact same amount as the second invoice they sent me. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service. They did a fine job on the actual construction once it was done.

The primary complaint I have with J. Benson is their lack of communication. I could never get an accurate update on scheduling or a commitment to completion. I was told by my contact at J. Benson, when I first allowed my insurance company to bring them in to repair water damage, that they should have my project completed within one month. The damage occurred on Feb. 2, 2016 and was not substantially complete until May 26th, 2016. This was a small job of less than $7000. There are still remaining items incomplete or of poor quality remaining. I at this time have hired a second contractor to finish the details.
I did have the pleasure, after some time passed, to work with one of their employees who really seemed like he wanted to get me taken care of and treated me well. Alas, he could not prevent it from dragging on way too long.
