I had a very good experience with signing up at National Fitness center in Maryville yesterday. I am beyond happy with their sanitation procedures, their childcare facility, and their overall equipment ESPECIALLY the women's only workout room. So glad I joined.
Failed to cancel membership after I went in and submitted on the applicable paperwork. Continued to auto draft from my account for three months before I caught it. When I confronted the company, spent 30 mins with a manager and 15 minutes on the phone with corporate after which time they told me that I Never officially canceled my membership, therefore they can still bill me. I ended up refiling all the same paperwork I filled out previously, after which time they did stop doing my account.
I was happy when they initially opened the new signature club. I was a first time member to the National Fitness Brand. It was beautiful with alot of features. Maintaince and cleanliness started to go downhill shortly thereafter and most of the staff are rude and always on their cell phones. The major problem arose when I got offered a job and needed to move to the Washington, D.C. area. They requested an unreasonable burden of proof to verify that I moved and would not accept an appointment letter from the federal government with my start date and 2 credit card statements with my new address on them as proof that I was moving. I will NEVER join a gym again. They are predatory and want to get all the money they can out of you for the longest time possible they don't care about customers.
Treated me like a criminal, dishonest sales presentation, management refuses to speak directly with you to resolve issues. Do not do business with this company.
My family and I were loyal customers for about 2 years. We joined the new facility built near by Cedar Bluff. On June 29th, 2015, we relocated to Grand Rapids MI for my new job. Prior to my move I initiated phone conversations with their headquarters regarding cancelling our membership. Since then I sent several documents proving that I now live in Michigan (utilities, credit card statements) and that I work in MIchigan (my employement contract, email communications from HR office from my new employer, etc). Some of this information was sent via email, but most of it was sent via certified mail. It is now 8/13/2015 and they are still giving me hard time. I need to show them paystub. My first paystub will not be available until 8/31/2015. Between 6/29/2015 and 8/31/2015 + 30 days cancellation period I will loose $274.85 + $195.00 cancellation fee. I can understand $195.00 even though it is way overpriced, but the $274.85 is flat out stealing!
Big time crooks. Was a member for 8 years and due to a move out of state had to cancel. Problem is they don't make cancelling easy even if you move. They're in process of trying to charge me as much as $500 to get out of the contract even though we're now living in a different state. Money hungry and downright unethical. What a wonderful way to treat a long time and loyal customer. Terrible, terrible company that will stop at nothing to make getting out of the membership and absolute nightmare
Fantastic Staff, competitive pricing. Sure there is a contract but everyone has contracts (at least the ones that are worth using) Trainers are super helpful and the facilities are very clean
I have the same problems trying to cancel my membership. I am going to talk to my bank and report their charges as a fraud.
