In response to the patient, the office submitted a claim to MetLife Dental for the examination and radiograph. An explanation of benefits explained that no benefit was available and the charges applicable were $43+72=$115.00. The patient was charged less than that. There is no reason to refund any...
money. If the patient did not agree with any charges, she could have left the office and sought treatment by another practitioner or even her own dentist.
