Review: I have filed for financial aid at IVC in December 2013. I completed all requirements and was told I had to wait up to 5 months to receive aid since they were understaffed. As a result of not receiving timely financial assistance that I applied for, I had to drop my courses since I could not afford books. My paycheck only covers my overhead and bills. They cannot expect students to keep a good academic standing in their courses if they cannot afford to buy books for their classes. It seems that they are taking advantage of the fact that they are understaffed and using it as an excuse not follow federal guidelines.Desired Settlement: It would be great if a thorough investigation could be performed to discover the following:1. Are they really understaffed?2. Why does it take so long to receive aid?3. What specifically is their institutional procedure for processing aid?4. Are they being selective in student aid processing?If so, why?I would like to be included on the results of the investigation.
