First complaint in years of my irrigation business
I have a year warranty and system was install 6-19-I replace control (timer) because client said it was coming on at wrong time & dayI installed new controller in 9/1/15-9/7/time frame usually if system is
malfunctioning its a programming issue w/ controller
As I said new controller installed and didn't receive complaint from client until this yearI used old controller at my house and is working as it should
I made visits to try to satisfy (client) complaintsI recently called her after receiving this complaint and offered to install a 3rd new controller but she declinedAs said, I have years of irrigation experience and not one filed complaint until nowThe Oregon Landscape Contractors Board can be contacted
My feeling is there may be some power issue in her house that causes controller to need to be reprogrammedMy last call to her suggested she make sure the volt battery backup was installed in controller and to turn off power & disconnect volt and let controller rest for a few minutes, then turn on power and reprogram
I have always responded to her calls with a service call and not charged her for any of the six service calls
Our soils in central Oregon are very sandyThe clients lot is a larger lot that at one time had a drain field/septic tank for sewageThe backyard has very little top soil and many small rocks near the surface that dry the lawn out very fastDrainfields are designed to let water (gray water) get down thru the top layer quicklyBecause much of *** lawn in back was drainfield & septic, it needs more water
Most people water twice every other day, early morning, late evening every other day*** needs to water that much or more because of her backyard soil conditionShe I think felt that watering schedule was too much and tried to get by with one watering, every other day
I do all my own work, no employeesI have installed roughly systems every year for yearsI feel client is upset because I don't usually call before making a service call, if people have a problem I take care of it usually without returning a callI have offered to fix (replace) controller, but she said noI have made service calls that year and not been paid for anyI would encourage you to have client call me and we can work this out
