Iron Horse York

This was our first visit to this restaurant and of course it was on NYE. We had reservations at 7pm amd arrived on time. We were a party of six and there were only 2-3 other tables and was not busy at all. We were told by the waiter that they were short on staff and had a party of 16 in a private room after we complained. We waited over 20 minutes for our drinks from the bar. We heard a loud crash in the kitchen and was hoping it wasn’t our food which was taking a long time already. Our appetizer came out with our meal, the salmon was raw, our two steaks were raw and they were requested medium rare. We ordered shrimp and chicken with our salad and they forgot the chicken. When we asked for a manger he was behind the bar serving drinks and started arguing with us right away. He stated they were short on staff and had a party of 16 and we had to wait for our bills because the party of 16 requested separate checks. We waited over 25-30 min for our checks. Then he added you requested separate checks as well. I said to him it’s NYE and if you could not split the checks we would have paid for one and figured it out. No one came to us to explain why we sat so long waiting for drinks or food or if our food was dropped. Or that our app came out with our meal. Or why we waited 30 minutes for our bill. And we have never had a Manager argue with us and not even apologize for any of it. Matt B was our manager and we could not believe he would yell at us! I sent a message to Calogero E the owner and reading past reviews he has never responded to anyone expect one customer and he only explained the same thing and never apologized. I would never send this complaint but, many people in the past have reviewed this restaurant very badly about their food and horrible service. Unfortunately this was the only restaurant available for NYE amd now we know why. I feel people should not have to keep having these horrible experiences and spending their hard earned money. Nothing has been done in over 2 years!
