Two years ago I bought a global SIM card from GWirelessI used the phone in Europe, and was completely satisfiedService was excellentAny questions I had were dealt with quickly, either via e-mail, phone or chat
Since then, Gwireless was bought out by iRoamThere is no longer any customer supportI have e-mailed, phoned , and even mailed a letterI got zero response, except one time when they e-mailed me that a problem was fixed, when in fact it was notEventually the phone started to work again, but I received no explanation of what happened
Problems I've had include
calls do not go through for days at a time
Most of the time a delay occurs between me talking, and the person on the other end hearing what I say, and vice versa,
Sometimes everything I say echos back to me
I will definitely look around for a better option, with a company that knows the meaning of customer service
Bought a SIM card in Ontario looking to setup a US number for my cellphone, mostly for text messaging. Rates seemed perfect for what I needed, activation was simple and it placed and received calls using [redacted] fine. It was not able to send or receive text messages though; any attempts to send a text message to it from local phones interpreted it as a land line, and sent messages from it said they sent, but just went no where.
From there, customer service went downhill fast. I called about the issue the next day, and after dealing with support, they put me through to a tech. With that tech I was asked to send my number a few text messages for testing, which they saw in their systems, but never reached their destinations. From there they were to contact the local carrier ([redacted]) as I was told it appeared it might be an issue with communication between the two systems, and that they would have a response between 24 and 48 hours. 3 days later, and it wasn't working and I didn't receive any updates. Calling daily gives me the same daily response - mix and match responses of we will escalate it, either it will be fixed within 24/48 hours, someone will call me back that day. None of which happens. Calling in the next day shows no update in the ticket, and of course managers not around or just walked into a meeting. All 3 of them, every time I called that day.
This may work for you, and if it does, great. But they will not be honest or forthcoming about issues and delay on something as fundamental as SMS messaging, giving me no faith they can be trusted or relied on in other countries.
