IRepair - McAllen

On 10/5/2019 I took an iPad mini to iRepairmcallen.com located at ***, McAllen Texas for repair. I was given a cost of $85 and I left a $45 deposit. I returned to the store several times. Initially, they were not able to repair it. Eventually they were able to repair it and charged significantly more than $85 (approximately $155). They made the repair and increased the price without prior agreement. Additionally, after repair, the iPad required a passcode. I don't use passcodes so I could not unlock the iPad. I did not want to pay $155 for a device I could not use. I told the attendant "***" that I would return. When I returned, "***" told me I had to wait 15 minutes before he could help me despite being the only customer in the store. I could not wait and left. When I returned, "***" told me they sold my device since I took too long to return. The receipt did state that any device left after 14 days would be sold. However, despite having my telephone number, they did not call me once before they sold the device. I requested a refund for my deposit of $45. "***" declined the refund and asked me to return so that I could talk to the manager. I returned several times until I found the manager. The manager declined the refund.

In the end, they kept my iPad and my $45 deposit.

I spent a considerable amount of time, energy and money dealing with this company. Next time, I'll go to Apple or Best Buy.
