We were contacted by International Properties, UTLD in Atlanta, GE to sell our Vidanta timeshare. They said they were a legitimate business and assured us that they dealt with Mexican timeshares with Vidanta on a regular basis. We indicated we would not pay any Mexican taxes to sell the property prior to signing the sales agreement. They put in the contract the buyer would cover any taxes. They provided documents that suggested that the buyer had done so. They asked we pay a transfer fee of $5, 703 and we did so by wiring money to an account they provided. That was a mistake. While they provided a receipt of the money, they said according to the contract that we needed to pay off the Vidanta contract by again wiring money to an account that was different than Vidanta instructions. We refused to do so and they said we would be in breach of contract and that buyer would sue us. We paid off Vidanta and provided them documentation. Then they said the purchase could proceed. Shortly thereafter they indicated that the Mexican government required we pay over $31,000 in taxes. Again we refused and they began to threaten us, said buyer would come after us for taxes the buyer supposedly paid to Mexico and they would not refund our $5,703. When we said we were consulting with an attorney, they said they would subpoena us to come to Georgia. Individuals from this company that corresponded with us included Charles Price, David Henderson. Names used on what appears to be falsified documents included Nelson Bowman and Jose Torres MacDonald. They provided a letter from a former client named David. This is a very sophisticated scam or if not a scam, it is a business operating in a negligent and unprofessional manner.
Refund We'd like our money returned to us.
