We loved our experience at Countryside. Kayla was an awesome sales person! She was very honest, helpful, and treated us like family. They gave us a great trade in value on our vehicle, and a great deal on my new Subaru. Kayla even went and filled the tank to FULL with gas before we left, and it was about -25 wind chill! We would definitely do business with them again!
Thanks Chris for the kind words, I'm thankful that you had a great experience and we appreciate your business. Enjoy your new vehicle!!!
I purchased a 2011 Cadillac SRX4 turbo package vehicle on July31-2018 at 3:20 pm from Countryside Auto in ***. I was told at this time the car would be washed and cleaned. It was not it had stuff in backseat, dust and spiderwebs still on it. After driving it around I had gone to work and realized a headlight was out. I made an appointment with my mechanic ***. Upon Inspection I was told it was more than just a lightbulb and it was headlights, ballasts and igniters. The total cost being $993.81. I called Countryside auto because I obtained a Carfax report that stated it went from manufacture to the company or person that owned it in Illinois. Countryside Auto told me when I purchased vehicle that it was in Florida then Illinois. The vehicle was never in Florida. When I called Jay at Countryside to let him know, He told me "What your going to go after me? I explained the Carfax statement and what my mechanic had said, Jay at Countryside Auto told me that he would look at information and get back to me and that never happened. Jay also said it is actually the mechanics fault and they should be the ones with the problem.
Mr. did purchase a vehicle from us on 7/31/2018. At the time of delivery, the vehicle was clean and all components of the vehicle were in proper working order, including the headlights. Other than any repair covered under the LLPW (see below), the vehicle was purchased as-is. Per Mr., the headlight issue occurred almost 1 month after he purchased the vehicle from us. Although this type of issue wouldn't be covered under any type of warranty, we have historically made repairs for customers and not charged them or given deep discounts if the issue is brought to our attention shortly after the purchase and is brought to our shop for the repair. Mr. took his vehicle to another shop in Fond du Lac for the repair and he didn't let us know about the issue until after it was fixed - even though he almost had to drive past our shop to get to the other shop. We would have appreciated the opportunity to provide service to Mr. and could have certainly saved him some money on the repair. Our goal is to not only sell vehicles to our customers, but also to partner in reducing the the overall cost of ownership of the vehicle by properly maintaining the vehicle to our high standards. In this case we weren't given that opportunity, and have no way of knowing, after the fact, what may have caused the failure that Mr. in describing.
We did include a Limited Lifetime Powertrain Warranty (LLPW) with Mr. vehicle at no charge to Mr.. Per the Warranty (see attached) that was communicated to Mr. at the time of delivery of the vehicle, all mechanical and maintenance work on the vehicle must be performed at our shop, in order for work to be covered under the warranty and also to keep the warranty coverage in place. In this case, Mr. is claiming an issue with the headlights of the vehicle which wouldn't be covered under the LLPW, but it does speak to our commitment to helping our customers maintain there vehicle at a reasonable price.
Mr. also claims that we misrepresented the vehicles history - as can be seen from the attached vehicle history report, the vehicle was in the following States, CT, FL, IL and now WI, as communicated prior to the sale.
Per State requirements, all of our vehicles go through a rigorous inspection process prior to being offered for sale and the vehicle in question was inspected and as noted previously was in proper working condition at the time of delivery.
I am sorry to say that we can't cover any type of repair that was performed at another shop, without first giving us the opportunity diagnose and service the issue first.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Vehicle was purchased on 7-28-18 according to paperwork, On the 25th of August it was taken to mechanic to be looked at. This mechanic is no where near Countryside Auto or is it on my way to mechanic. My mechanic looked it over and determined it was a headlight issue. The mechanic told us to report to the Revdex.com because they just recently had a car in their shop for repairs that came from Countryside Auto which cost this person thousands of dollars. This person did the same thing by calling Countryside Auto and complaining and the same story came up," I have to look into that". The vehicle I purchased is under the 30 days, No where does it state" as is" anywhere on the forms or was I told verbally. When calling I explained on the 25th. that what was going on and I got the response of "Are you going to report me" I said I wanted something done because they knew about it because it is on the Carfax report in ILLINOIS. Also Countryside Auto uses Autocheck which is being proven to be not accurate considering there is some other litigation in Fond du lac in regards to cars being sold using this information to sell a car. I purchased Carfax on the 25th to find out where my vehicle was and it went from factory to Illinois and was serviced there routinely. The vehicle they claim was not clean, still had flag in it, it was covered in dust inside and out and had spiderwebs on it in mirrors. The headlights had water moisture in them that was visually noticeable so why it wasn't checked before leaving the lot is really on them, if they inspected it at all. The warranty was on the powertrain which has nothing to do with headlights. I am asking for a refund of the cost of repairs which I have stated before.
Regards
The mechanic you mentioned in your original complaint is right down the street from us, in fact we outsource some work to them occasionally. We have a good relationship with them, including mutual respect, so it seems odd that they would be telling you to report us to the Revdex.com.
A copy of your signed contract is attached here and the highlighted area clearly states that the vehicle was purchased As-Is. With that said, we would have welcomed the opportunity to diagnose and repair any issues that were brought to our attention - we were never given that opportunity.
I'm not sure what "are you going to report me" means and how that relates to a vehicle history report. Autocheck is owned by Experian and is a respected source for vehicle history reports, in fact many articles have been written of the advantages os Autocheck vs. Carfax. I will admit that Carfax does a much better job at marketing their name, so the name is definitely more recognizable to the general public, but that doesn't make it a better product. I'm not aware of any litigation that relates to using any certain vehicle history report.
I'm truly sorry that we aren't able to meet your desired resolution, but I do know that if any issues arise in the future, we will be here to work out a favorable solution if you give us that opportunity.
Jay was very honest and worked with us very well it was a pleasure doing business there
Thanks Richard for placing your trust in us, we appreciate your business!!!
