I am submitting this complaint against Insurance Auto Auctions. This business is engaged in auctioning vehicles for insurance companies. On 7/5/2018 we purchased a 2015 Acura MDX Stock# *** VIN# ***. This unit has been advertised to have a front damage as primary and right front as secondary. The vehicle was also advertised that the vehicle's engine starts.
However upon taking delivery of the vehicle today, we found that this vehicle actually has a severe undercarriage damage which resulted in tearing the entire bottom of the vehicle. The driveline, transmission, and engine are all torn up in pieces. There is not even a single drop of oil in the engine for this vehicle to be capable of starting. This kind of damage is not a result of a front end damage, it is a result of a severe undercarriage damage which was masked and not even indicated in the advertisement. Considering that this unit was sold on a timed auction, we didn't even have enough time to arrange inspection, therefore we fully relied on the advertisement which in this case was completely deceitful.
I have contacted the selling branch, and spoke with***, however he isn't willing to cooperate in trying to resolve this matter. I made several other attempts in trying to resolve this matter with the higher up management, but automatically received a response from *** (Regional Manager) with their "AS-IS WHERE IS" policy, which dictates that they are pretty much not responsible for anything. I feel that the auction is responsible for representing the vehicle's condition in the most accurate way.
I have evidence to prove that this auction is doing everything possible to fraudulently bring the highest bid during the auction by providing deceitful advertisements, hidden and undisclosed damages, artificially raising bids by posing as an ONSITE bidder and so forth. I have brought these concerns up couple times, and no one even seemed to care, these wrongdoings are continuing on their end.

Refund I'm asking Revdex.com to step in and arbitrate this dispute. I am requesting a full BUYBACK of this vehicle including all the Buyer's Fees and Transporting fee I paid to have this vehicle delivered to my place of business.
IAA's Auction Rules (located in full at (https://www.iaai.com/AuctionRules) do advise buyers to do all research, including inspection, on the vehicles prior to placing their bids. Buyers are also advised not to base their bids solely on the information provided by IAA on our website. Our yard personnel are not certified mechanics and we do not have the equipment to check the vehicles.
Please note that this buyer requested to sell this vehicle on consignment and branch agreed to that. Then after requesting to sell on consignment the buyer changed his mind and came and removed the vehicle from the yard.
This buyer did have the opportunity to inspect the vehicle on July 2nd, which is the preview day for the Dundalk, MD branch. The buyer could also have hired one of our Inspection Vendors that are listed on our website if he could not inspect the vehicle himself.
IAA claims no wrongdoing in the way the vehicle was advertised and reserves its rights.
