How shocking to see on my account that I purchased a salvage title corvette, when I did not. Also, please explain why is it so hard to get in touch with anybody. This company makes it impossible to even talk to anybody, with a title.

My husband was in an accident, the car was originally brought to ACC and transferred to IAA. We had an appt to clean our car out while it was at ACC but for some reason it was moved before the appt. IAA was not open until Monday, this being on a Saturday.

I get to IAA not too long on the Monday after they open and they don't have report of having my vehicle. After a little time and phone calls, they find it. The vehicle gets brought up to me on a fork lift and I proceed to get my property. Half of it has already been gone through and put in a bag. I check every nook and cranny and grab my items. When I was finally able to go through the bag, I notice my change is missing!! We kept a little compartment full of change, not just 10 pennies, what I did find in the bag of my stuff.

I understand some people don't return for their belongings but give the people time. It wasn't even at this facility for 24 hours on a OPEN business day and someone already put their hands on my belongings. It makes me wonder what else of mine is missing that I can't remember right now.

When called to complain, the manager wasn't there but was left a message to get back to me the next day. By noon I was calling him again to see what was going on. What a disappointment he had not even looked into the situation. After looking at the email he made a statement that he's not trying to pass the blame but the car had been in many hands previous to them. Any statement starting like that makes me feel as if they are passing the blame and don't really care of the complaint.

First things first IAAI is a great place to buy cars. it has always been my number one insurance auction source. However recently Ive let down by a few of there branches. If it wasn't for the most recent disappointment I wouldn't of complained. any ways heres the story.

Never buy anything from IaaI NY long island branch. Something will be missing from the car. I've bought 3 cars from there. first 2006 audi a4 missing front s-line lip $350 lost (not to big of a deal). second 2006 bmw m3 was the highest bidder on the car, but the car was given to a lower on site bid. even though I clearly had the higher bid. called corporate called the branch, a guy called vitaly picked up the phone and that was all I needed to know. third 2002 BMW m3 "runs and drives," they said, except the car did't have a fuel pump when I picked it up 300 dollar loss on my end. be extremely carful when bidding on cars on NY long island branch.

NJ northern new jersey is a good branch had a smooth transaction.

TN Knoxville vary good branch extremely happy with service car storage everything was perfect even got the broken headlight. from which I was able to salvage the OEM hid ballasts saved me a few bucks.

Most recently and the most frustrating is Tidewater VA. purchased a fiat 500 abarth. in the photos the car had a bumper standing in front of the car. won the bid for 4000. was happy, until I went to pick it up and found out that the car didn't have the bumper. more importantly they used the bumper to block some of the radiator damage making the car look less damaged. since it is an abarth it the bumper painted to color is $850. the car had a missing computer and the interior was apart. but that isn't that bad. the service was terrrrrrrible!!!!!!!!!!!!! the costumer service was extremely rude when I asked them politely about the misplaced bumper. it took the manager two hours to get to the site to deal with my issue. when I told them that they are not allowed to cover up the damage. he became all polite and decided to give me a full refund, including the auction fees. but know one will pay for the day that I lost and I genuinely wanted to buy the car.

Be carful when bidding on vehicles that have unknown seller and unknown damage. If the seller is unknown most of the time it is a private seller selling through a dealer. pretty much you don't know what you are buying. most of the time you will be screwed. so just be carful when dealing with IAAI.

I bought a car online bid with Iaai and it was said that car won't start and the primary was repossession. So when I went to get the car on the windshield in big letters says engine locked. But on the picture it did not have those words on there at all. Beware of IAAI this is their second time doing me like that! False advertising

Review: They had a glitch in there system that displayed the wrong information and pictures on a vehicle we purchased.

I turned on their "Online" auction to bid on a vehicle and when I did it was right on the car that I needed to bid on. I proceeded to bid and won the car for $5000. I went to look at my account to see what the total was for the car and it was a completely different car. I've spoken to several managers, their national buyer services and they require me to either pay the price for the vehicle ($5,544) or pay a penalty fee ($1000) to decline the car. Or not pay anything and have my account closed (my business relies on purchasing cars from them).

They simply will not do anything about this because they've never seen an issue like this before. Desired Settlement: I would like to have the vehicle removed from my account without having to pay for it; pay any penalties, or having my account closed.

Initial Business Response

We had our IT Department research this issue and they showed that the buyer logged into the online auction 1 second after the vehicle the buyer wanted to bid on, and thought they had, closed to all bidding. We determined that the IT issue was on this buyer's side. The buyer has been informed of this.
