When I purchased the Innova 3100a, it says on the package that it “comes with access to Innova.com RepairSolutions which gives trouble code definitions, a full diagnostic report, probable causes, most likely fix to DTC’s and more.” When I visited RepairSolutions (www.repairsolutions.com/en-US/User/Login), under “Software”, I was able to find “3100a” and downloaded the software “RepairSolutions_V1.02_English.exe”. I installed the software in my Windows 10 laptop. I hooked up my 3100a to my laptop via mini-USB and the diagnostic report would not download from my 3100a. I contacted Innova’s customer support and was told my 3100a is “too outdated”. I checked Innova’s website, the 3100a is still actively listed as “out of stock”, not obsolete or something to that effect (www.innova.com/en-US/Product/Detail/3100a). I feel misled by Innova. Firstly, if my 3100a is “outdated”, their website should not still list the 3100a as out of stock (out of stock to me usually means it’s popular, it’s sold out) but instead should be listed as obsolete. Secondly, I should not be able to find the software in RepairSolutions’ website – to me it means there is still a software supporting the 3100a with RepairSolutions. I would not have bought the 3100a had I not be misled in the 2 areas. Now I am stuck with a tool that I cannot use to download the diagnostic report – a feature that is very important to my usage.
On March 15, 2018 around 2:50pm we reached out to *** regarding his concern he had with his 3100a not working with our current software. We explained to the customer that he had an older version model, which will not work with our existing operating system. We upgraded the customer to a later version model which is compatible with our new operating system. The customer agreed to our offer and a tool was shipped to *** on 03/15/2018 and was delivered on 03/20/2018.
