Complaint: I wanted some extra push for my workout and figured I would see how I liked personal training. I went to the personal training office and asked if I could try out a month of personal training and he showed me my options and prices. I chose the 4 sessions for $300 and he showed me a piece of paper which I signed stating that I had 4 sessions. I did not want to continue personal training after my 4 sessions that I purchased so I did not purchase more sessions; so I thought. I was out of the country on vacation for 2 weeks so I didn't notice until after the fact that they charged me for more sessions. I spent a month trying to figure out why they charged me and finally a customer service rep said that they sent me an electronic email (that I had no clue about) stating that it will be auto-renewed until I cancel. I did not sign that so that is fraud and never saw that contract nor was I told about it. I made it very clear I just wanted to try out training for a month and see how I liked it and that is what we agreed upon when I signed up. I would like to be reimbursed for the fraudulent charge of $303 that I did not authorize

Complaint Detail: The In-shape gym on Mooney boulevard has scammed me into paying for two and a half months worth of a gym membership that I did not want or agree toNot only was I uninterested and absolutely tricked into this contract, the customer service from their front desk and management
staff was terribleI signed a up for a one year gym membershipAfter the year came to end, I spoke with a front desk clerk to inquire about the last day of my membership, she informed me it was at the end of JuneI said, "Great, I don't need to do anything else?" the clerk replied, "Nope, that's it."It is now August and I have been charged for two additional months! I called and spoke to a membership adviser and they told me I am now on a month to month membership per my original contract, even though my one year had ended and I was not asked to renewI was told in order to cancel I would have to go to the gym in person and request for them to cancel my membershipWhen I got to the gym I went to the front desk and told them I wanted to cancel my membership and asked to speak to a managerInstead of doing this right away the front desk clerk asked me why I wanted to cancel and why I needed to speak to a managerI told her I didn't want anything more than a one year contract and that I wanted a refund for the two months that I didn't want or use my membershipThe woman said "Managers don't deal with that and we don't give refunds".Furious, I said fine just cancel my membershipI came to find out that the cancellation policy takes days and I will be charged for half of a month next month even though I insisted I wouldn't be using this gym nor any of the In-shape gyms.I hope that this complaint reaches the right ears and the management/front desk take their jobs seriously and make an effort treat their members with respectI will never again sign a membership nor recommend this gym chain to anyone!
