Review: I hired Imperial Woodworks to do the repairs on my house after Hurricane Sandy. We worked up a contract to fall in line with the amount of money I received. In good faith I sent a 10 thousand deposit. The money was controlled by the bank, and the funds were released on there time schedule, which included an uninformed change of banks, which held up the funds for longer periods, as GMAC filed for bankruptcy. All money that was released was sent directly to Imperial. Upon inspection after 4 months of work, and giving Imperial over 40 thousand dollars, they ran way behind schedule, and never completed any of the work that they were paid for. The only work that was done was to put down an unfinished wood floor, sheet rock, sand spackle. This was approximately 10 thousand dollars worth of work Upon asking, for an updated schedule, there was no reply , and the balance of the money was not returned when requested, and he promptly cancelled the contract and left me with no ability to finish my house. It is terrible to take advantage of someone in my position, and the fact that I was not there to oversee the work.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back, so that I can finish my house. From my figures according to Imperials schedule , I am owed about $30,000.00. There has to be some sought of solice for people in my position, but I was taken advantage of.
