ICDI Diesel Repair

On September 11, 2019, we stopped in Spokane, Washington at ICDI Diesel Repair to have the a cooling reservoir installed. We also asked if they could change the oil and filter as well as the air cleaner. We paid our bill, complemented them on what a great job they did! NOT…
On September 21, 2019, roughly 2300 miles later, our motorhome starting losing rpm’s and eventually died alongside the freeway outside of Columbus, Ohio. We had to have it towed 28 miles into Columbus. Freightliner looked at our RV. Once they got it running somewhat, they kept getting low boost pressure faults and the air filter gauge was reading “restricted”. They asked if we had had the air cleaner replaced. We told them, yes, a few days earlier. The test faults kept coming up. We told them to check it anyway. They removed the air filter mounting bracket and tried to remove the air filter, but the exhaust was in the way. They had to remove the air cleaner in two pieces and reroute the exhaust. They showed us the air cleaner they removed. It was pretty clear that the air cleaner was not brand new. It was never replaced! ICDI fooled us into thinking it was done! Four days in Columbus in a hotel and eating fast food! We finally were able to hit the road again.
We have a photo of the air filter and the subsequent invoices and hotel fees come to nearly $4,100.00.
