Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
I would love to be able to put a value on the information stolen from me Since no one can tell me who it was sold to, and how much, is not an amount I can precisely gauge What I can figure so far is that I am still owed a full car detail, a tank of gas, and hours of my personal time A detail is around $250, the tank of gas $30, and the value of time at $ I figure that the real value of this experience is $580, with no real figure on how much my information is worth.

Volkswagen Of Olympia
Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
The sparse response and clear lack understanding of privacy violation is incomprehensible. There should never be any reason that a person's privacy can be signed away without their knowledge. The VW car manual for states that the Car-Net systemtracks all of the information on operation and performance of the vehicle. There are highlighted warnings that the vehicle owner needs to warn anyone who operates the vehicle is being tracked. The system knows exactly where the vehicle is and is tracked with GPS locating. Either the dealership does not understand how it works, or they are lying to make the consumer believe it is only a safety device or satellite radio.
The dealership failed to respond to any inquiry I had until formal complaints were filed with the Revdex.com, VW of America, and the WA state attorney general. A car wash is in no way a replacement for the violation of privacy. The dealer is unable to answer who my information is sold to, and how much of it has been used for commercial gain. This has been the most unprofessional transaction I have even been a part of. In the end, I have nothing to show for my troubles and the hours spent trying to gain my information back. I now have to spend my own time and effort to remove the system from the vehicle.
Please take my advice and stay clear of this dealership.
Sincerely,[redacted]
I Apologize for any inconvenience or trouble this may have caused you. Emma was just trying to go above and beyond for you. She wanted to offer a complimentary trial free service that could potentially save your life in an extreme situation. She drove to Bellevue from Olympia to get your...
car for you. You said she could drive it straight to your house dirty and with no gas but she insisted on bringing it back to Olympia to do full detail and fill with gas. We are sorry for the distress this may have caused you. Emma truly just wanted your experience to be great and complete. She misunderstood you when she explained car-net and thought you did want the free complimentary trial service. Like XM radio it is a free service that most all of our customers are excited to try for free. It has since been cancelled and your information removed from the system.
