Review: In May to July of 2013 we engaged in negotiations with the Hyatt regarding reserving rooms at the hotel for our wedding party. The rate they offered was significantly higher than any hotel in the area (the Hyatt had yet to open and was unfamiliar with the market). We asked if they would lower the rate if we agreed to have our rehearsal dinner there as well. They agreed and offered a rate that we found reasonable. They sent us a contract that reserved ten rooms at the agreed upon rate and explained that they could only reserve ten rooms at a time but would reserve another block of ten rooms each time the previous block was filled. We asked what happened when the block was filled and their response was "its easy, you just sign another form and we reserve the rooms." We agreed and signed a contract to reserve the rooms and rehearsal dinner. Months later, a GM was installed at the hotel (she was not there for the original negotiations) and is now claiming that the agreed upon rate is only applicable for the first block of ten rooms and the only rate they can offer on new rooms is more than twice as much. This is a complete violation of what we agreed to, and we have email evidence that when we inquired as to what happened when the first block of rooms was booked, they did not mention anything about a renegotiation. In fact, saying the process was "easy" implies there is no renegotiation. We would not have booked the dinner here had it not been for the rate received, and we wouldn't accept the rate for only ten rooms (fraction of the wedding). It is now months later and there are limited options as this is a small town. I would like them to honor the original agreement or at least be reasonable - more than doubling the price is far from reasonable and clearly violates what we had agreed to. Desired Settlement: I would like the hotel to honor the original agreement. I am not trying to be unreasonable and would even be fine if they acknowleged the original agreement and increased the prices slightly on the second block of rooms, or perhaps only offered us the agreed upon price on the Sunday rooms. But refusing to do anything and pretending the rate only applied to the first ten rooms is completely ridiculous and unacceptable.
