Review: Hudson Physicians:
- condones the practice of physcians keeping patients waiting frequently for periods of between 45 and 60 minutes. This was the case in excess of 6 times for me personally and my young son. This practice caused me to miss business appointments, lose business revenue and subject other vendors to missed appointments and disruptions.
- consistently failed to report biopsy and test results at all and in the time outlined at the time that delivery of service was provided.
- subjects patients to excessive amounts of time on follow up phone calls trying to get test resultsDesired Settlement: It is not fair to patients, their family members, or other businesses to conduct these shoddy business practices. They need to acknowledge the issue and address it and consumers need to be aware of what to expect by this health care provider.

Response:
Dear Ms. [redacted]:
Your letter of September 15th was referred to my office; copies were also forwarded to our Clinic Administrator and the physicians you specifically mentioned in your letter. I felt it was important that they be aware of your perspective.
It is evident in your letter that you are frustrated with physician wait time. Hudson Physicians is dedicated to providing exceptional health care, but we do acknowledge that there are times when we fall short of that goal. Physician schedules are challenging, often subject to circumstances beyond the doctor’s control; surgeons and OB/GYNs especially struggle with their schedules. We do apologize for the inconveniences you have experienced and will continue to work towards improving our patient wait times.
With regards to Hudson Physicians corrective action plan, I assure you we do have protocols in place for monitoring patient wait times. Nursing and reception staff work together and take responsibility for updating patients when a physician is running late. They also are expected to offer patients the option of seeing another physician or rescheduling their appointment when a physician is more than 30 minutes behind.
Protocols are also in place for notifying patients of their lab results, which usually come back within 24 to 48 hours; it is the responsibility of the physician/nurse team to contact the patient. Lab patients, who have not heard from their physicians within one week, are directed to call into the Clinic. With regards to your July 26th biopsy, results were not immediately available, but a letter was mailed out by Dr. Jacobson on August 1st advising you of the results. Patients with abnormal test results are contacted immediately by their physician.
I sincerely hope that my letter has addressed some of your concerns. In closing, I do need to state that while we understand your frustration and take seriously your complaints, Hudson Physicians would not be agreeable to an adjustment to your balance. Please accept as a gesture of good will and our apology for the inconveniences you incurred, Chamber Dollars for you to enjoy and use in our community.
Very truly,
[redacted], Business Office Manager
