In September of 2018, I birthed twins at the local hospital and have been requesting supporting documentation for the charges for the last 10 months. First, there were issues with billing insurance - after deciding to add secondary insurance in November (which would cover expenses in September), they were billing only the secondary and not the primary. After that was corrected, I've been receiving bills for different amounts for each twin. I've questioned and disputed the charges on nearly a dozen phone calls with reassurance I would receive the explanation requested to justify the charges. As far as I'm concerned, the second twin did not receive different care for each date of service except the first 24 hours after birth. I never received additional documentation, a letter, a phone call or anything following up on the disputes, yet I received a collection notice on July 19th.
