I did an exhaustive search for cabinets before finally deciding to go with Cabinets.com I checked in-stock items at HD, Lowes, Ikea In my opinion, all those big box stores deal in junky particle board cabinets if you buy them direct from the store floor The cabinets from Cabinets.com are heavy-duty plywood I checked a bunch of other RTA online cabinet suppliers and Cabinets.com had the best overall internet presence, price, selection and ability to instill confidence in the buyer I had zero problems placing the order, and Cabinets.com delivered in a very reasonable time frame I personally built all the cabinets (just do one a day or your elbows and shoulders will be very sore) and I can tell you these are solid cabinets I elected to use screws instead of the recommended staples and these boxes would still be standing if a tornado blew the roof off the kitchen Cabinets.com went above and beyond by sending me extra cabinet skin material for the parts I forgot about (remember bottoms of high cabinets) Also, I ordered extra drawer slides that were promptly refunded once I realized the drawers came with slides already What is really nice is the price: I paid no tax, no shipping (over $deal gets you free shipping of an pound pallet - incredible!!) and a 25% seasonal discount The new appearance of my kitchen is literally stunning I pulled out a year old set of dingy cabinets and now when you see my kitchen, all you can say is "transformed" I only had to contact the design folks once, and she answered all my questions completely satisfactorily I contacted customer support several times and they always did a superb job Overall I couldn't be happier Just so you know, these cabinets do have the potential to exhibit a slight amount of front-panel variation due to the wood curving ever-so-slightly This is definitely less than 10% of the total set of cabinets But keep in mind this is a natural product - trees aren't intended by the Creator to be straight as a machinist tools Since I am a die-hard do it yourselfer, I doubt anyone but me can see this slight natural wood variation The finish done in dark brown is essentially perfect I challenge USA to make a product as high in quality (although I would be happy to see this someday) And lastly, I like this company but they didn't pay me to say any of this
