Housing Authority--Fresno

Fresno Housing (FH) attempted to conducted a HUD mandated Housing Quality Standard (HQS) inspection on April 12, 2018. No one answered the door. A 2nd inspection was attempted on April 25, 2018. A female answered the door, however, told the inspector to "Go away." The inspector called the phone number on record and received a message that it was not a working number. Appointment letters are mailed out 2 - 3 weeks in advance of the inspection date.

Fresno Housing must follow HUD guidelines and inspect the program participant's unit per its policy outlined in its Administrative Plan. Fresno Housing conducts inspections annually. HUD also requires FH to take action and enforce the Family's Obligations, therefore, FH mailed the complainant an Intent to Terminate Assistance letter April 30, 2018 with a contest deadline date of May 15, 2018. The letter states that the complainant must send a letter to her case worker to request an informal hearing. These grievance procedures are also outlined in our Administrative Plan.

Given that the letter we received yesterday has the complainant's contact information, we will contact her today to explain the process she must take to retain her voucher assistance.
