My family and I gave one inspector inspections to do in a year time spanMy husband and I were preparing to sell our house and decided to have a full pre-inspection done to know of anything we needed to save financially for to be able to fix for potential buyersThe pre-inspection occurred and we were under contract pretty quickly after making adjustments to our home based on the inspectionWhile under contract, the potential buyers had their own inspector come out and do a full home inspectionDuring the buyer's home inspection, the inspector went up on our roof (we have a split level home) and the inspector found that our roof was in immediate need of a complete replacement, costing us nearly $4,and a potential loss of a contract on our home as well as the one that we were waiting to buyCome to find out when we asked why the House Master inspection did not note similar findings, the owner made us aware that his inspectors do not HAVE to get on the roof to do an inspection and they did nothing wrong and would not help us in making this rightWe wanted a reimbursement on our FULL home inspection to make sure our new prospect home (which the same inspector did an inspection on prior to knowing this information) was looked at by someone else because we had lost our trust in their businessThere was nowhere mentioned in any contract before we paid them hundreds of dollars to inspect that they had the OPTION to get on the roof to inspectIf that were the case, we would have went to another inspector that could meet our needsThe way that the House Master inspector and owner went about dealing with our situation was rude and unhelpful to us - despite all the business we have given themWe will no longer EVER use or recommend anyone use House Master or *** *** to inspect homesIt made me sick to my stomach thinking about how this all could have been avoided if we would have known the roof technicality prior
