Hi, The customer ordered a bed frame in special finish and size. The bed received and delivered does not have a design flaw as this is the standard way it is manufactured. This is exactly how it was shown on the display model from which the...

customer ordered the product. This is a sleigh bed and so the headboard and footboard curve outwards which leave a gap of approximately three inches at each end. This is not only the design of the bed but also allows room for duvets, comforters etc...to be tucked in.
Customer is asking for the bed rails to be specaially cut to their preference. This is not something that we typically do nor is it covered under warrenty. The maunfacturer while is able to change the finish and size have a set pattern for their design and are not able to specially cut pieces. The customer received a special sale price on the item and paid $999 plus tax for a complete [redacted] sleigh bed. That is an incredible value and due to the fact that there is no design flaw or defect, we are not able to do any further customer work on it.
However, we have contacted and had a meeting with a local woodworker technician and explained the situation that the customer prefers to have less space and he would be able to cut the rails to the customers preferred size at a fee of $150 plus tax. We would be happy to have the wood tech contact the customer to arrange between themselves but House 2 Home will not be responsible for any costs associated as well as all warrenties will be nullified as the original construction would have been altered.
