Need to cancel a hotel reservation made 7/17/20. Hotelsone website directs customer to a toll free number; I tried to call for over an hour only to find number is not in service per Verizon recording.

I have been the victim of quite a scam. The company HotelsOne tricks the customer into thinking *** is on the hotel's web site. In my case, I made a reservation on 02/12/2020, at the Fairmont Lake Louise for next August 2020. Clearly thinking that the reservation was made with the hotel. When I attempted to cancel the reservation on April 1, 2020, I was told by the hotel that I could not cancel with them because the reservation was made with HotelsOne.
Upon calling HotelsOne, they were not answering their phones.Through the HotelsOne internet site, I was informed that the reservation was non-refundable.
On April 1, 2020, I cancelled our airline reservations and then called Barclays Mastercard to dispute the non-cancellation of the Fairmont reservation and the $3755.24 charge.
When I got over the initial shock of being told that my reservation was n0n-cancellable and non- refundable, I began to research HotelsOne using Google search. I then discovered other
travelers have been similarly duped.Their customer service is completely computerized. You can never connect with aperson. They are located at

I am rejecting this response because:I have repeatedly communicated with the company HotelsOne regarding their itinerary #
*** which is my reservation for the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise hotel in Canada. The company is well aware that I
made this reservation on February 12, 2020. And then cancelled the reservation due to the corona virus pandemic on April 1, 2020.
The reservation was for August 3 through August 7, 2020. It was cancelled 4 months in advance . My wife and I are both seniors and were
afraid to travel. The company, HotelsOne, has not refunded my $3755.24 reservation charge. Only after making this reservation and
attempting to cancel same was I informed that it was non-cancellable and non-refundable. The company HotelsOne is operating a scam!

I checked out early from my hotel due to COVID-19. I was told I needed to get the refund from hotelone.com. I have been calling them for over 3 weeks and when I get transferred to refunds they hang up.

I paid for a non-refundable stay March 26-20, 2020, at Eden Roc Hotel in Miami via this website. First, I thought I was on the hotel website when I made the reservation like many others have stated. Due to the the Covid-19 outbreak, I'm unable to travel, and the event that I was going to attend has been canceled. I've emailed their customer service from the website several times with no response. I've also called the customer service number listed only to find, like many others, that there are "technical difficulties" with the number then the call disconnects. I've made several attempts to call with the same result. I find it odd that no one has attempted to contact me, at least via email. I prepaid over $1700 for the stay, which I will probably never get back. I understand their no refund policy for the room I reserved but thought that, under the circumstances, I'd at least be offered a credit to use another time. I believe I was deliberately led to this site in my search and led to believe that I was dealing directly with the hotel until after I made my purchase. It was then that I realized that I was dealing with hotelsone.com. I never received an email confirmation at my email address as promised. Luckily I printed out the receipt so I have proof of my purchase. At this point I believe it may be too late to file a dispute with my credit card company but I will try.

I thought I had made a reservation for a hotel through the hotel's website, but was unknowingly booking through HotelsOne. When I received the confirmation email, I was very surprised to learn that the payment was non-refundable, even though the hotel stay is over a month away. I was also surprised to learn that I paid significantly more for the reservation than I would have if I booked directly with the hotel. But the most infuriating thing is that when I called them and started politely describing the situation, I was hung up on. I called back again, and was hung up on again. Both times, I was hung up on right when I began asking them if they would please issue me a refund.
I was provided a link by my organization to reserve rooms at the *** in ***. I was provided a group code. Somehow I ended up at a HotelsOne third party site which was exactly the same as the ***s site in presentation. While making the reservation I came to a box stating review/confirm reservation, I had not put in my group code yet. I believed I had one more window to go to get to that point. Nope, found out it was a third party, made a reservation for way more than my organization pays for, and there is a no cancellation clause that was not evident when making it. I immediately contacted HotelsOne who told me the would create a ticket as the property was not answering there calls. I hung up and immediately made contact with the property with no problem. At that point I knew I was scammed by a junk company. Back and fourth Emails with their representative that says in will not be refunded as the property will not relent. The property states they do not control what the third party does.
Dear Customer,Thank you for your email and we apologize for the delayed response. We regret that we are unable to locate any reservation. In order to proceed, we would ask you to reply with additional details that were provided at the time of making the reservation - eg. name, email address, contact telephone number etc. These details should allow us to locate the booking and to consider the request.Best wishes,***Customer Care Specialist
Booked a hotel in Peru through this SCAM outfit. I got the 788.00 amount clicked through the process and the amount ended up being 2054.65. They more than doubled the cost for one room, two people. NO INDICATION OF PRICE PER PERSON AND HAVE SNIPS TO PROVE THIS. I contacted them immediately thinking they had a system glitch. Could not get them on the phone nor would they respond to my emails. Just kept saying a Case ID has been assigned to your enquiry which is contained in the subject line of this email. Please quote that Case ID when making any further contact with us about this issue. Our agents aim to respond to you within 48 hours of receiving your email - if your enquiry is urgent, please contact us by telephone instead. TOTAL CRAP! Then I finally had some lady call me from Expedia saying I had to pay after a couple of weeks because the reservation is non-refundable. I had a similar experience in Canada with an Expedia reservation. They kept telling me they contacted the hotel manager and I knew the hotel manager who said NO ONE from Expedia had contacted them. I had to have the hotel manager call them directly and say remove two nights from the bill. Expedia and Hotelsone.com is the biggest SCAM I have seen in my lifetime and my Attorney friend in TX is going to enjoy this class action law suit. This girl is not going to be taken but appears many other have.
I thought I was booking directly with Hampton Inn. I found out it wasn't affiliated with them at all. My credit card was charged and no refund available. What a sham!
This company which I believe is a subsidiary of Expedia, started by presenting their search result on Google so that they look like they were the actual hotel being searched for, Their site continued this deception by boldly and in large font showing the hotel name. In much smaller text and in a box the HotelsOne name appeared, but it looked much more like an ad than a site identification. They then listed a rate as "Best Available"which was higher than the rate available on the actual hotel website. Finally, they marked up their actual rate by nearly 70%. Likely making more than the hotel in this transaction. Responses from "CustomerCare" were evasive and not helpful. Avoid this company if you see it creeping into your booking.
I made an online reservation through hotelsone on 6/8 for 2 rooms on the same itinerary for 6/28-6/30. we had to cancel that reservation on 6/10. total charged to my card was $497.06. I cancelled what I thought was both rooms, since they were on the same itinerary. When I got our AmEx statement yesterday, they had charged me to the other room, so I only received $248.53 back from the cancellation. I called and spoke with ***, the floor manager. She said that I had to cancel each room separately. this didn't make any sense, since I cancelled the entire itinerary, which had 2 rooms on it. I think this is a scam!!! I contacted my AmEx and they are looking into it.
Thank you for your feedback. In order to cancel all rooms, you have to check "Cancel this room" for every room in the booking. The status of the rooms in the booking are shown after completing the cancellation. We are sorry that it was not clear for you that you only cancelled one room. We have contacted the hotel and we were advised that one night room and tax was charged as a penalty. The amount of 127.59USD will be returned to the original form of payment used at the time of booking and it will reflect on the next statement. The total refund amount is ?376,12?USD.
Best regards,
HotelsOne
Zero stars. I booked with this company when I thought I was booking with the hotel. I was told that the booking was fully refundable. I called back later the SAME DAY to cancel the booking, and was told that my booking was non-refundable. I then got the runaround for several weeks. I contacted the hotel, which agreed to refund my booking, but HotelsOne nevertheless refused, saying that Priceline (whose role in this transaction was never disclosed until now) would not permit a refund.
This company engages in fraud.
I booked a room at the Met in Coquitlam. I was there within 10 min. The Hotel was above a bar, & bestro. People outside smoking & doing drugs. Parking was across the busy street and public parking. The receptionist tried to get my $$ back. No luck. I am 80 yrs old & did not feel safe staying there. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I am very disappointed that I cannot get my $$ back from a place I didn't feel safe.
This is a scam! Booked a hotel online, was unknowingly redirected to their site. Had to pay up front.
Upon checking in, hotel gave me a receipt showing my room cost $159 per night. Hotelone charged $189 per night ( 2 rooms x 2 nights = $120 plus tax overcharge)
PLUS $60 service fee. I disputed the charge with AX. Hotelsone sent them a letter stating I agreed to this and found in their favor. ( cancelled my two 30 year old cards with AX)) I tried contacting Hotelsone directly. First they couldn't locate my reservation, then I was rerouted to Canada, where I was told I had to pay in Canadian currency for my Canadian hotel. (The hotel was in St. Augustine, Fl.) FInally got to someone who heard my story, became very rude, said they weren't returning any money, and just set down the phone. I have reported the to the Atty. Generals office, the Revdex.com, written as many bad reviews as I can, and put my story out on FB. WHAT A SCAM!!!!!!!
Ps they made me give them a star, undeservedly.
I don't know how to leave 0 stars or I would. I believed I phoned a hotel to make a reservation and received a quote, so I booked it. I was not told this was a third party that would then charge me nearly $27 extra OR that the hotels get reimbursed less when you book through a third party place. I am irate as I was calling the hotel instead of booking online to SAVE MONEY! I phoned them to complain and ask for a refund as well as to let them know they should tell people the total they will be charging and that they are a third party. They said they would refund me $6 and that they do tell people that, which I know they did not. I never would book via third party like this. I'm so irritated and angry for all the people paying this additional charge that don't know, don't fight it or don't realize. Not to mention, it was minus 25 degrees where I live and it was prepaid so I could not even cancel!
When I booked online, I was misled into thinking it was the hotel's website. I was unaware that it was *** until I had clicked that I wanted the rooms and paid for them. This practice they use is a scam.
We are sorry you were unaware that you booked via our website. Our brand name is displayed in the top-left corner of every web page.
The stay dates of your booking are in the past. Also, you booked a non-refundable rate. The cancellation policy is indicated on the hotel page, the checkout and in your confirmation email. We are therefore unable to provide a refund for your booking.
For more information, please contact our customer care center.

I am rejecting this response because: this business is a scam and doesn't make you aware of their cancellation policy until you have booked your room or rooms.
Regards
Dear sir/madam,
You mentioned: "I was unaware that it was ***". We are sorry you were unaware you booked on our website. Our brand name "***" is displayed in the top-left corner of every web page.
You also stated: "...doesn't make you aware of their cancellation policy until you have booked your room or rooms.". This is not true. When selecting a room rate on the hotel page, each rate shows either "non refundable" or "free cancellation". An "i"-icon shows the details of the cancellation policy. The checkout also shows the cancellation policy for each room with "non refundable" or "free cancellation". By clicking "room policy" the details of the policy can be reviewed.
Upon inspection we found that the policy of your reservation states: "The room type and rate selected are non-refundable. Should you change or cancel this reservation for any reason, your payment will not be refunded." We cannot offer a refund for your reservation.
Your checkout date is in the past (Sep 16 2018). This means you either stayed at the hotel or did not show. This means that the hotel has charged us in full for this reservation.
Best regards
Dear Customer,We have now completed our follow up on your query in relation to your complaint on itinerary *** for ***. We have now processed the refund and the amount of 462.49 USD will be returned to the original form of payment used at the time of booking and it will reflect on the next statement.Thank you for booking with us.***Customer Support Specialist
I discovered after this online booking service charges at least 10% over the price of a room than what I would have been charged had I just called the hotel and booked directly with them. It took several days to get a phone number in order to talk directly with hotelsone.com staff and they refused to refund even one-half of what I had considered an overcharge for the two-night stay at a Hilton Garden Inn in Eugene, OR. I will not use hotelsone.com again and urge others not to as well.
We made our reservations three weeks in advance, yet we got the worst room available; above the laundry room (dryers worked all night long), next to the elevators and facing the vending and ice machines.
I booked a hotel through this company on the website. There terms and conditions stated cancellation policies may apply, please check what the terms are: 48/72 hours or a fee.
I call and attempted to cancel my hotel reservation through them, 72 hours in advance.
I was told first, the business had no mailing or corp address from the employee. Then I was told that they were going to change me the full price of the hotel.
Then I asked to speak with a manager: he stated there policy says no refunds. I said, there website and the confirmation I had, said differently.
They still didn't provide me with an address to file a complaint or try and get this resolved.
I found a website, where more than 78 people are logging complaint against this business.
False ad's on the internet and false emails to consumers.
In Aug 2017, I booked a room several days in advance, and could cancel it up till the day before. Something came up, and I cancelled it the day after booking it. The site got hung up when I did the cancellation and I wasn't sure it went through. I entered the confirmation number several different times, and each time, I got the notice that the number was invalid. I decided, if it's invalid, it must have been canceled. I was floored when I saw that I was charged on my VISA the next month. Not, just charged, but charged FIVE days ahead of the date that I stayed at the hotel (even though it was cancelable up until the day before). I ALWAYS indicate that I will pay at the hotel, and there was no need for this, even IF I had faltered on my agreement.
I contacted the hotel, and they were very agreeable to doing the refund, but concerned that they had to go through Hotelsone, and they didn't want to be charged the commission fee. They agreed to contact Hotelsone. I didn't leave anything to chance. I contacted Hotelsone, myself. They told me that hotels won't normally do refunds, and they have to deal with the hotel. I told them, this manager will - I talked to him myself. They had me hold the line and they called the hotel themselves (so they said), and told me the hotel will not do the refund. After a whole lot of back and forth, I finally understood that they would refund my money right away. I totally expected to see a refund on my VISA the next month. Shame on me for not following up sooner. No refund.
I contacted the hotel again, and the manager told me he never did hear from Hotelsone. Yes, he is willing to do the refund. The long and short of the whole thing, the manager sent me an e-mail stating that he will do the refund when he hears from Hotelsone that he will not be charged commission for the booking. I tried to forward that to an e-mail address that Hotelsone gave me, but I received a response that it was sent to the wrong department, and they gave me a phone number. I kept pressing. I told Hotelsone that this was all their fault. Their site failed the test when I went to cancel this, and tried to confirm the cancellation. Secondly, they are lying to me, because I KNOW that the manager is willing to do the refund. Out of curiosity I entered my booking number again, and I actually found it on the site – it was no longer “invalid”.
It took many phone calls, and lots of pressing, (it’s your fault; you’re lying) but I finally got someone to talk to the manager of the hotel, and the whole thing got straightened out. They kept me on the line as they did the refund, and then sent a confirmation e-mail (which came from EXPEDIA). I checked my confirmation number again on the website, and this time it said it was “invalid”. I thought, maybe the refund was actually done! I wasn't leaving anything to chance, and I checked my VISA after the weekend, and sure enough! The refund was there! By the way.... I'm not sure how this should affect EXPEDIA'S rating, as they were involved somehow, and the Hotel manager kept referring to “EXPEDIA”. I understand that Hotelsone is under Expedia, but if Expedia does the refunds, maybe this is a ding to them, too?
