This business, Honest Auto LLC, told my wife and I that our car would require over $1000 worth of repairs. My wife informed Honest Auto that we would be taking our car to another auto repair shop for a second opinion. When my wife picked up our car, she was charged an $85 "Diagnose" fee. My wife did not want an argument, but this is unacceptable. We paid for the agreed upon routine maintenance.
I found a *** approved auto repair shop with great reviews, and took the care their. The mechanic at the *** approved auto repair shop told me that my car only needs $394 worth of repairs. He completely disagreed with what Honest Auto LLC said about the car repairs and cost. He also did not understand why I was charged an $85 "Diagnose" fee.
Two problems here:
*Unacceptable $85 "Diagnose" fee.
*Very questionable auto repair work/estimates/charges
Hello my name is kenneth s*** owner of Honest Auto LLC. I would like to respond to the complaint against my business from customer ***. The customer whose name was *** came in on june 18th, 2020 for an oil change, tire rotation, tune up, and to check an oil leak,as that is what the customer wanted done.we took care of the oil change and tire rotation.we then proceeded to diagnose the oil leak and tune up. Before any other service is performed we get prices on parts and labor and inform the customer. we informed the customer that they needed a tune up which consisted of spark plug, air filter, pcv valve, fuel injection service, throttle body clean, cabin air filter, and valve cover and intake manifold gaskets. we recommend the valve cover gaskets because there was oil seeping down to the spark plugs and by just doing a tune up would only patch the issue for a short amount of time. I base my business on honest work, if I just did the bare minimum work on this vehicle the customer would end up coming back in a couple months with the same issue. but we had to take the time to pull the spark plugs and diagnose the issue of which the customer wanted us to look for an oil leak and tune up.if the customer agreed to get the work done through my business I wouldnt of charged the diagnose fee of $85. since the customer denied the work to be done we charged them for our time spent diagnosing this 2008 ford fusion. I also have signs posted in the main office that clearly state $85 diagnosis fee.since we spent time diagnosing this customer's issue I will not be issuing a refund since a diagnosis service was done and completed. Also for the customer to complain about the estimated price of the work, we at honest auto use only OE (original equipment) parts which in the end do cost more than the cheaper options out there.I stand behind the quality of work and honest service done at my business. thank you Kenneth SOwner of Honest Auto LLC
