We purchased HOA documents via Homewisedocs for the sale of our house to provide to the buyers. We provided all the necessary information to purchase the documents within their schedule of time. They did not provide the documents on time, they were late and they did not include all of the documents. This gave the buyers a reason to walk away from the transaction.
We have spoken to this customer and reached complete resolution of this complaint. HomeWiseDocs does not agree that there was any negligence on the part of the company or our customer service team, however we have fully resolved this complaint to the satisfaction of the customer which is always our top priority. Please feel free to contact me should you need additional information.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 14***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I had to reach out for a revision on a condo questionnaire and I got to speak with Kaitlin W. who explained the process step by step. She got back to me the very next day and responded very quickly to my emails. I am in contact with around 50 companies daily and she was one of those rare encounters that leaves you happy. No hassle, very kind, and professional. Thank you
I had a issue and called and was assisted by *** She was very nice and made sure she found the solution to my issue and followed up. I appreciate such great customer service. Thank you

Homewise makes our life much easier and helps our internal processes run smoother!
As COO of a medium to large residential property management company it is critical that you have business partners who make your job easy and help you be successful, not only financially but with with your clients. HomWiseDocs has done that for us for over 7 years and we've appreciated the relationship from day one. They have helped to make our job of providing documentation, disclosures and demands, all required for sales and refinancing of condominiums in Massachusetts, more streamlined and efficient. We're happy to be working with HomeWise!
Their email service never sent an email to me. Now they claim I must pay a rush fee to get my documents on time. I had multiple people attempt to forward their email to multiple email accounts and the emails were blank, without a valid link or way to pay for their service.
I was never given an option or alternative. I HAD to use them, and now I HAVE to pay the rush fee to get documents before a home closing. I never
HomeWise cares about every transaction and takes all customer feedback very seriously. This has been addressed this with Jon. Jon failed to receive the information from the title company which was title's responsibility. However, we recognize that we can better enhance our communications with our title users to ensure they forward the information in a timely manner and have put that change into production. We also offer a secondary payment for e-check at no cost in addition to the credit card when a rush is added. The "Add Rush to Order" feature is a customer service if title needs to make last minute requests We appreciate Jon's feedback and will refund him his rush fee as well as his demand fee for a total of $71.
Several negative reviews appear to be posted by misinformed people. They don't realize that Homewisedocs is a "middle-man" software service provider that assists homeowners with gathering the information they need from their HOA to sell their house.
Posting a negative review against Homewisedocs because you think the fee you paid for a certification was too high would be the equivalent of somebody posting a negative review against *** because they think the Federal and state income tax rates are too high. If you think the certification fees are too high, contact your HOA board or your HOA management company and complain directly to them! (In most cases, the homeowners who are complaining about these high fees also had the opportunity to vote for their HOA board members who set those certification fees.)
Also, those who post negative reviews about slow turnaround time....again they don't know what they are talking about. Following the same *** analogy, blaming Homewisedocs for slow response times on certification letters is like blaming *** for you not receiving your tax refund check from the IRS in a timely manner. *** has no control over how quickly the IRS mails out refund checks. Similarly, Homewisedocs has no control over how quickly HOA or HOA management companies respond to certification letter requests. Unfortunately, despite the efficiencies and software automation Homewisedocs provides to the home certification request process between home seller and the HOA, Homewisedocs cannot force HOAs to respond quickly to such requests. .....and that is a problem that exists no matter what software provider is used to automate the home certification request process.
As an FYI - we are a management company in Colorado that manages HOAs and tax districts servicing many thousands of homes and we have used Homewisedocs for many years. We respond to and complete ALL home certification requests within 48 hours and our processing fees are under $200. We sympathize with the concerns expressed in the negative reviews, but the people posting the negative reviews are posting complaints against the wrong company.
Also, I want to provide a shout out to Monica Waugh at Homewisedocs for her dedication to supporting a great software product and promoting great customer service!
we here at HomeWise would like to frame this review and hang it on a wall of fame. This is AWESOME. Thank you for so eloquently explaining the process and leaving such positive feedback regarding HomeWise and our staff. We value you and the relationship with your company. Have a great day!
I am the CEO of a community management company and have been working with Homewise for about 2 years now. Prior to working with Homewise, we were with another company whose system was outdated and challenging to use. Updating current records was near impossible and beyond frustrating.
After switching to Homewise, the system became much more organized and easy to use. Uploading current documents comes with ease, and the platform itself is more user friendly for our clients and for our team.
I have read some of the reviews that are written about the company, and it's unfortunate that Homewise is getting the brunt of the complaints. Management companies set the prices for the forms and documents. Homewise facilitates those fees and collects them for the management companies. I understand that the fees may seem high or unwarranted, but the fees are there to account for the countless hours of added work that the management company staff provides in communicating and coordinating between lenders, real estate agents, buyers, sellers, etc., as well as the time to ensure that correct documents are included and forms are provided. Additionally, the statute requires that the Association provides documents, and the management company assumes the liability when taking on this role on behalf of clients. The fees are there for these various factors.
Thank you so much for leaving this awesome review!!! HomeWiseDocs appreciates all partners in the industry and works hard to offer customer support and efficiency for every transaction. We appreciate these words so much, Neda!
In the real estate world, documents need to be shared faster than 2 weeks, as some closing happens in less than two weeks. We received a purchase agreement and needed to provide the bylaws. However, the turnaround time for these PDFs was 2 weeks, and in Minnesota we are required to provide those within 11 days. In order to get these on time, we needed to pay an additional $160 rush charge on top of the $250 cost to get the documents. They are taking advantage of the 11-day requirement by telling people it takes two week unless they pay $160 rush charge. We are filing complaints with our association, HomeWise and the MN Department of Commerce. This is unacceptable, and I hope other property management companies take warning not to use HomeWiseDocs.
Horrible service and less than honest business practices. If your property management company uses Home Wise Docs, let it serve as a major red flag. This company outright lies on their delivery times with no regard for their customers well being. They then have the audacity to try to racket more money from you by taking longer then their standard delivery times by "offering" Rush delivery. Steer clear!!
I am a Realtor and tried to order a customer questionnaire for a client so we could do a closing. The chat service they provide is not helpful and their website is not user friendly. It lead me to order the incorrect questionnaire because there was no option for the one I needed. When I contacted the customer service, they told me to just re order and basically telling me I was out of luck. So I wasted $260 on a form I couldn't use so they wanted me to take a risk and try it again. No way! They would not even assist me in this effort.
Please be advised that complaint *** has been resolved.
Please confirm receipt of this email.
Best regards
I live in a community that has VIS for property management. They use Homewise for a 1 page information in order to complete an escrow. Information that is needed would take about 5 minutes to gather and instead of providing it to the escrow company or the homeowner, that fee is $150 to fill out this form. WHAT A RIP OFF!
Director of Operations reached out to reviewer asking for her contact me since no order or user was located in our system. At of the writing of this review the reviewer did not contact me back. Had I been able to reach the reviewer I would explain that fees charged are not set by HomeWiseDocs but the management company using our system. The pricing is set within the accordance of the market guidelines and state statues. People are often confused about the process and wrongfully blame HomeWiseDocs for their frustrations. HomeWiseDocs cares about our customers and makes every attempt to clear up confusion.
Horrible company to be forced to do business with!!! As a real estate professional, was required to purchase entire "Seller Resale Package" in order to obtain one document. Given no option to preview docs for accuracy, nor specify which docs were needed. After placing order for the full resale package, half of the docs were blank (including the ONE document I was in need of)! Called customer service and they basically told me it was my problem to take up with the HOA management company (who, by the way, directed me to Homewise*** in the first place). REDICULIOUS!!
Director of Operations reached out to reviewer via email on September 18, 2019 to obtain order information, since the email address provided in the review was not related to a user or order in our system. As of the posting of this response we did not hear back from reviewer.
HomeWiseDocs does not process the documentation related to the orders. Because we do not have any order information to review the order or documents for accuracy, we are unable to see if we can assist in any resolution with the respective management company. HomeWise cares about our customers and makes all attempts to resolve situations that arise. In this case, I feel this review is not valid if the reviewer is not willing to provide information so we may review the situation the reviewer is complaining about.
The software doesn't return the correct association with the property address. Poor platform and and later on customer service. BUYERS BEWARE. I should have looked at the reviews, but this was referred as a quick online solution to order and "cheaper". I am in the Northern California and work on $82 million in sales/yr of real estate transaction files and have not come across poor customer service of 3rd party vendors. If you need your HOA docs, go directly to the Association and have Escrow order, which we normally do. They may take longer and a hundred dollars more, but you will not go through what I did. I followed up a phone call after requesting a refund on a valid request, and it's as if my phone call didn't take place. Next, the text support rep, *** B., was not professional in her language. They obviously don't want repeat customers. I would not refer to anyone and would my team or I will never use again. I am preparing a blog to put in a forum in a real estate company with over 20,000 employees to warn Realtors and their coordinators on this company.
This company sent me a request, at nearly the 11th hour, to pay for an HOA close-out, then told me I needed to pay extra money to have it expedited. I did not. Then, when the buyer fell through, their intractability caused an additional $250 worth of damage when I had to pay for the exact report all over again. The only thing different was the date. They did no additional work on their part. I was not allowed to change the date, myself, although this was my property and a report I'd paid for. This company is shady, deceitful, and inflexible. Do not trust them.
I am the HomeWiseDocs Operations Director and when I contacted Phoenix the line was disconnected. When I called back she stated, “do not call me again or I will report you.” In good faith, HomeWiseDocs wanted to discuss her order and see how we could help. Note: she did not place or pay for the order and she was not listed as a contact. The original order for her property was placed by her closing agent on 5-20-2019 with a closing date of 5-31-2019. That order was completed on 5-29-2019. Later, her closing agent (on 7-12-2019) placed an update request to get current information since it had been over a month since the original order was completed. To expedite the update request, (on 7-16-2019) the closing agent then added a one-day rush and the order was completed sooner on 7-17-2019. Any charged fees are set by the management company after ensuring that pricing is in accordance with market guidelines and state statutes. Fees are NOT set by HomeWiseDocs.
HomeWiseDocs is not a deceitful and inflexible company. We always attempt to resolve issues if someone complains. We have processes in place for the protection of our clients utilizing our website. HomeWiseDocs is the intermediary between the management company and the closing agent, to courier the requested documentation in the most timely and efficient manner.
