Ms. [redacted] was to provide me with the location of where the vehicle was being serviced, so I could go out and investigate the issue. She stated she did not know the name of the repair shop and would get back to me. She responded 3 days later and gave me the contact information. I explained...

that I could not get there until later in the afternoon that same day to investigate, and I would contact her with my findings / resolution. When I arrived at the location to investigate the claim, I was told by shop owner that the engine had already been replaced and Ms. [redacted] had already picked up the vehicle and returned her rental! Since we were never given the opportunity to investigate the claim that we were liable, I had to deny the claim. I did question the mechanic / shop owner if he thought we were responsible and he stated that the oil filter and drain plugs were tight and dry, and there were no visible leaks. It had been approximately 3000 miles since we last service the vehicle so it obviously had oil in it after we serviced it. He stated that she brought him paperwork about coil pack issues, and other unrelated issues with the vehicle. He stated that he believed the motor had internal issues and did not believe that it had anything to do with Jiffy Lube service.
