They had an excellent sales pitch, which was not followed up with action. They were only interested in collecting rent and late fees. I sent them money in March for repairs along with insurance company recommendations. In June (three months later) they sent someone out to look at the property when I notified them I was in town and expressed my displeasure. They did get back to me, and I submitted revision. To date nothing has been done. A tenant should expect working light switches, a roof that does not leak, no broken window panes and to have the wall repaired from the leak. Money was not an issue because I sent them the money in March. They collected the rent and late fee, but did not perform. The late fees should be returned to the tenant, as well as any excess above the monthly service charge to me because of lack of performance.
I moved into a home managed by Brick Lane Property Management in April of 2017. Initially, I made the company aware of holes/gaps/spaces all around the home prior to moving in but they were never repaired. I made note that these holes could potentially cause rodent entry, which is the case now. I have had to pay out of pocket for *** Pest Control services, which are not helping the matter because Brick Lane hasn't come out to repair the holes. There is now a mice infestation in the attic of the home and the entire house. I have tried to reach out to them in an attempt to have this matter resolved several times to no avail. I really want to move at this point because of them not holding their end of our contract by providing a safe and habitable environment. I am at wits end and don't know what more to do. I either would like to be released from the contract with no fault on my end, to be moved to another property or for the damages to be repaired. There were other hazardous repairs that were needed for the structure of the home that requests' were also disregarded.
My name is *** and I am writing you all to advise that a resolution has come into play regarding complaint ID. I am being released of my obligations as a tenant being that the owner cannot afford the repairs to the home that were deemed as mandatory per the Marion County Department of Health. I will be refunded my entire deposit of $775 within 45 days of vacating the premises. I was asked if we could be out by 10/31/2017, I advised I would try my best to find somewhere else to reside by then. I was also advised that if for any reason we cant be out by 10/31/2017, to contact my property manager and let her know and she can arrange for an extension. At this point of time, I would like to request that my complaint be closed/resolved.Thank you! -- *Be Blessed...
