When we installed the two new batteries the lift was working. The fuse had to have blown after we left or the lift...
would not have worked.
The $340.00 charge for this job included two new batteries at $75 each, plus labor, drive time, overhead, and profit. Our charge to her was typical and fair.
The customer is over an hour away from my office. I tried to encourage her to find a service technician closer to her home.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2015/02/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They didn't respond to calls and the batteries were on 2 days old when the fuse blew, The batteries are suppose to last at least 5 years like the old ones. Also there are few companies that work on these lifts because they are made in Canadda and the copany up there Cmabridge gave us their name has to being the only one in our area. When they reinstalled the batteries which had jsut been replaces less than 6 months ago the techs should have checked the whole unit for a fuse and look for why the batteries didn;t stay charged. They never called back and said they were not coming again or respond in any way. Leaving my 82 year old mother to wory and become a nervous wreck on being house bound. And also not getting to work. They should have at least called back and said they were not going toh elp and end the realitonship. I feel they were neglagent by not inspectiing the lift and just putting batteries in. Then 2 days later the lift didn't wokr and my mother was stuck on it midway which the firemen had to get her off. My mother is old and handicapp.
