Re: Pre-payment of 5 nights reservation: In Aug 2017 I accidentally and unknowingly made a 5 day reservation and prepaid for this on *** I believed I was securing the reservation with my *** I now find that I was charged the full amount but I did not use the reservation. The amount if $742.05. I contacted the hotel and they advise they cannot or will not refund me since it was prepaid. I was attending Swift Current for work but did not have to go that week. I find it unusual also that the hotel did not call me to see if I was attending. ***
The reservation was made through their ING Booking system and it was the first time using the system. I did not have to attend the week booked. I did not recall making the reservation but hotel forwarded me the copy of on-line booking which indicated reservation from Aug 21-26. I did not realize I paid for this until I received my *** bill last week. *** It was obviously a mistake but the hotel is unwilling to refund any money to me.
A full refund of $742.05 for 5 nights charged at the hotel which I did not stay in.
The Guest Booked online for the date mentioned and choose a pre-paid non-refundable lower rate and agreed to the reservation policy that if they decide to cancel the reservation the full entire stay amount will be forfeited.
The Guest cancelled the reservation on August 17. and again agreed to the reservation policy.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Now that I saw the reservation made on line I agree it was made HOWEVER it was made for the first time using the on-line system for Holiday Inn and at no time did I know I was pre-paying for the week. I travel often for part time work in the summer months for the past 3 years and I have never made a prepayment reservation as my schedule often changes. I did not know it was prepaid and non-refundable. WHY WOULD I DO THIS? I am still asking for a full refund as I had no intention of prepaying for this reservation. I thought at the time the credit card was for holding the reservation. I just joined their system and it was the first time using it so I am asking for some leniency and common sense in this complaint.
