Thank you for contacting us about this matter with *** ***Mr*** has been a customer of Hoffman & Miller for many yearsAs with many of the landlords that we deal with we did try to contact him on February 13, due to his tenant contacting us about not having heat on one of
the coldest days of the yearWhen we could not reach Mr*** we honored an implied responsibility to protect a customer's property and his relationship to his tenantWhen we did bill Mr*** he contacted us requesting us to bill the tenant instead because he did not authorize the repairWe did bill the tenant who in turn contacted usWhen I spoke with him he was very hostile, threatening both on the phone and in writingHe refused to pay the bill because it is the landlord's responsibility to maintain the property and heating systemHe also stated that if we contacted him again he would take legal action against us by contacting the police and his attorneyI then spoke with Mr*** about the problems with the tenant and he did agree to pay the bill at a wholesale costAt that time Mr*** did advise that he was having problems with the tenant alsoI have not heard from Mr*** since that conversation and removed the charges from the tenant's accountIf you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me directlyRegards, Shannon SOffice Manager
