Review: I had the oil changed on my Ford Ecape at Hoffman Ford on Wednesday, 10/30/13. Beginning on Thursday, 10/31/13, an oil residue began to appear on the back of my vehicle. I know nothing about cars; and as my engine was running smoothly and I did not receive any waring lights on my dashboard, I did not think anything of the oil residue. By Saturday, 11/02/13, the oil was so thick that it did not come off with a simple cleaner. Once again, as my engine was running smoothly, I did not think anything of this. I made a mental note to get the car washed. That Saturday, I drove the car from [redacted], PA to a friend's wedding in [redacted], MD. The car ran smoothly. On the way home from the wedding on Sunday, 11/03/13, my engine started making very loud helicopter noises. I pulled over to check a few things. Upon checking the oil level of my car, I discovered that my engine was completely out of oil. I immediately drove to a convenience store and put two quarts of engine oil into it. Unfortunately, the damage was done. I did not get more than five miles before the engine blew itself to pieces. It has sustained approximately $7,000 in damages. My car ran perfectly fine prior to its oil change at Hoffman Ford on Wednesday, 10/30/13. In hindsight, it is obvious to me that it began leaking oil as early as Thursday, 10/31/13. I continued to drive the car for approximately 400 miles before the engine ran dry and suffered incredible damages. Hoffman Ford denies any responsibilty for these damages, and I find that ridiculous.Desired Settlement: I would like Hoffman Ford to repair the damage brought on by their neglegence.
