Our neighbor's crew cut down a tree we had planted and valued, on or near property line. Owner hung up on me.Next-door neighbor had contracted for the work,clearing his property of trees and vines, which was done on 2/25/14. Foreman stated at the time (after our tree was down) that he had checked whether it should go with our neighbor. Neighbor denies this. I had, in the few days before that event, been working in our back yard and appreciating the height of our tree. It was not bowed down with vines, as both foreman and business owner [redacted] claim. When I called to discuss this event with the company, the owner did call back promptly, but then dismissed my concerns fairly rudely, and hung up as I was still speaking.Desired SettlementReplacement or payment for replacement is all we ask.Final Consumer Response /[redacted] of Hill's Tree Service came by on 4/17, We discussed the difficulties of determining the property line; and I understand that when he spoke with our neighbor, no one could see much under the vines. Although I told him that I was satisfied about it all being a misunderstanding, he went above and beyond, and gave me a cash payment to replace the tree.
