(See attached)On August 27, 2019, I purchased a pair of glasses from Hillcrest
Family Vision. The glasses are fine, but the billing process and the business
practices were (in my opinion) very poor. At the time, I gave the optician my
vision insurance medical card and was told that I owed $96.00 which I paid by
credit card. I assumed that was all that I owed.Several months later I received a phone call where the gentleman said
that I owed$169.00. (Dr.
*** said he was to collect that from me). Why did you wait 3 months to tell
me this? I was very disappointed in your business practices, but I said they
should send me an itemized statement.I never received an itemized
statement until June 30, 2020! I will pay this bill but I cannot understand why
it took 10 months to send a correct bill to me. I’m 89 years old and after
years of going to Hillcrest Family Vision, I will be taking my business
elsewhere.Sincerely

Thank you for your letter and payment relating to your glasses from August 27, 2019.
I can understand your frustration in receiving an invoice for a balance due 10 months after you purchased your glasses. Please allow me to explain.
Our optician discussed your charges with you but once he actually submitted the order to your insurance, VSP, the remittance statement came back as a charge of $169 higher. My billing staff sent you this bill without knowing the events which led to this balance. This occurred approximately 4 weeks after your visit.
The true delay was the fact that we did not have your updated address on file, but only the 1551 Lander Road address. The statement was returned by USPS as undeliverable. We eventually were able to identify your new address and sent you the statement.
In light of this occurrence, we will credit your account the $169 dollars due to miscommunication. Your account will show a credit balance of $169 that can be applied to future purchases or we will refund this payment.
