Review: On October 22, 2013, I treated my family to dinner at Hill Street Caf in Oceanside, CA. I'll quickly summarize some of the key points:1. The scallop appetizers were old/rotten according to my son who is an accomplished free diver and has a lot of fishing experience.2. Three of us got soup, they were all lukewarm to cold and sent back to the kitchen.3. Half-way through our meal we still didn't have our water or drinks and we had another spicy appetizer. My son's girlfriend badly needed a drink of water really bad, which she still didn't have even after her request 10 minutes earlier.4. Then a roach starts to crawl under my 8 year old daughters chair, which totally freaked her out. I steeped on it and we then waited for the soups to be warmed up and our drinks to come at least 10-15 minutes after we ordered them.5. During our main dish another roach comes out, which again freaks everyone out. We all stop eating, stand up and my middle son catches it with a cup to show the waiter. At this point they are all getting pretty upset with what we are going through. My oldest son gives the cup to the waiter and tells him roaches are crawling under our feet while we are attempting to enjoy a dinner. The waiter giggles and laughs it off and says, "it's and old building."I paid $131.32 for basically a miserable dinner celebration. On December 24, 2013 I emailed the owner, [redacted], regarding my experience. [redacted] replied the same day and said, "For sure a complete refund is in order. If you email me your address I will send a check." He further says, "I apologize again and will gladly send a refund and gift card."On March 4, 2014, I emailed [redacted] checking on the status of the refund & gift card. [redacted] replied the same day and said, "I apologize for that. Resend me your address and I will send a check." On May 7,2014 I emailed [redacted] again checking on the status of the PROMISED full refund and gift card. [redacted] never replied to my May 7, 2014 email and it appears obvious he's breaking his refund promise.Desired Settlement: The only proper settlement is for [redacted] to follow through with his WRITTEN PROMISE of a FULL REFUND. He also promised a gift card on top of a full refund but I'd be satisfied with simply a FULL REFUND of $131.32
