First and for most we need to make a very important correction in the complaint regarding a business for which a complaint is being filed against In the complaint and the letter from Attorney General it's referred to Highline Motors and Bellevue Collision Services That is incorrect and
Bellevue Collision Services name and as a business needs to be removed from this complaint because it's a completely separate business entity which had nothing to do with the sale of the vehicle, this transaction nor has any relationship to Highline Motors I rent on office in the building of Bellevue Collision Services and this is the ONLY connections It is wrong and unfair to an unrelated business to be included in to the complaint and by doing so reputation and a good name of the business being tainted just for the simple fact that it's next to the business against which the complaint is being filed I respectfully request to Please make that correction in the file to remove Bellevue Collision Services from this complaint, unless Mrs*** can prove that Bellevue Collision Services had anything to do with the sale transactions or any other consumer related services.Mrs*** *** did in-fact purchase back in September of a USED vehicle from Highline Motors a Honda CRV with 34K miles on it Prior to the purchase this vehicle I had used this vehicle for personal use while it was in my inventory and had put on roughly about three thousand miles on the vehicle During my use of this vehicle I did not experience a single issue with it and vehicle drove and felt flawless Every vehicle I ever sold and us being a still very small used car dealer I personally test drive prior to sale and have an in-house mechanic inspect for road worthiness, safety and general conditions This Honda CRV was inspected as well prior to my personal use of the vehicle up until the date of purchase This vehicle was in sound condition with no mechanical or structural defects, all electronics worked properly and all safety features worked in accordance with manufactures specifications Mrs*** had visited our dealership and test drove the vehicle, at a later point she called me and said that she was interested in purchasing the vehicle but wanted to negotiate on the price Our cost on this vehicle was $22, but we agreed on the sale price of $20,with us being negative $2, Further more I agreed to with in certain period of time to help take care of any major issues if any were to come up since she did not do buyers inspection but was provide a copy of CARFAX In the complaint which Mrs*** filed every bullet point of issues are wear and tear items including regular maintenance of the vehicle which suggested by the vehicle manufacturer Only one issue was abwhich was a small fluid leak which ended up being originated from a drive axle shaft seal, it was a transmission fluid escaping from a failed seal I asked Mrs*** to take the vehicle to a local Honda Dealer for inspection and assured her that I will pay for inspection to pinpoint exact issue with the leak and either would arrange to transport the vehicle to us to correct the issue at our cost or have Honda dealer take care of it Once I got the call from the Honda dealer with an answer to what was causing the leak and the cost to repair it, I had agreed to the charges and authorized Mrs*** that I will have the her local Honda dealer take care of the issue and I will cover the total cost of the repair This vehicle was purchased by us at New Jersey Manheim Auto Auction, vehicle was from the East cost of the US and unfortunately they use salt as a deicer on the roads during winter and respectively this vehicle did have some surface rust on the undercarriage of the body but only to exposed bare metal parts such as exhaust bolts ETC., and many in my industry will call that a occurrence because almost all used vehicle and some new have some degree of undercarriage rust in variant amounts, it's just a nature of some materials which most vehicles are made from Despite all that, I extended a helping hand to Mrs*** as being an honorable business and offer her the following; I suggested that she could chose a date which works for her to bring in the vehicle and I will provide her with a free loaner vehicle and we will address the rust issue for hear again at no cost to her totally at our expense Mrs*** replied that she will be visiting her mother in Eastern WA on a specific weekend and that she would drop off the vehicle on the way there for the weekendWe provided Mrs*** with a similar size SUV as a loner and while she was on her trip we serviced her Honda CRV for rust treatment My technician placed the vehicle on the hoist and removed all tires and plastic undercharge shields to expose all potential bear metal spots which had surface rust on them for treatment We used a chemical spray which was applied in several coats to all visible rust areas with overlapThat particular chemical convers rust on a molecular level in to black primer and completely stops rust from reoccurring Me being in automotive industry for plus years and being certified by I-Car with a platinum status certificate I am very knowledgeable in automotive repair, paint and restorations This particular product I have used in the past on far more severe cases of rust and it worked amazingly well So as far as a rust treatment which was used on Mrs*** Honda CRV was a proven and reliable method to treat surface rust We also treated some interior areas as bear metal bolts and brackets under the seats for surface rust with the same application Since that time I have not hear from Mrs*** until recently stating that there are more issued with the vehicle such as; 1.hatch brake light is going outthe brakes are sticking ----- (not sure what this means exactly) starter is having problems there is a new leak originating under the motorwindshield wipers do not sit on the windows correctly nor wipe the rain correctly All the issues above are maintenance related issues that were not there during the inspection which was conducted by my mechanic, then noticed by me driving the vehicle for over month and putting on about 3k miles, then not by Honda dealership during their $inspection in order to find a leak and any other issued as was requested by me and Mrs*** asking service adviser at Honda Northwest I feel that we at Highline Motors honored our agreement with Mrs*** in taking care of her Honda CRV and going above and beyond of what most dealers would do for their customer We have taken care of all issued which arose during first several month after the purchase completely at our own expense which put us more in the negative on this particular transaction in order to honor the agreement and our reputation Due to several insignificant wear and tear and simple maintenance issues which now are almost month after the purchase of the vehicle Mrs*** *** is being unreasonable in asking me to buy the car back for exact sale price and reimburse all her expenses she spent on maintenance of the vehicle I strongly believe that we have done everything in our capacity to conduct this sale as transparent as possible working with Mrs*** and assisting her in this purchase and also servicing the vehicle months later after the purchase of the vehicle in order to fix and resolve all issued that she listed We have provided a copy of a sales file to the Department of Licensing Dealer and Manufacturer Services Investigator from Fraud and Compliance Investigation Unit who visited us on April 14th of Department of Licensing case number is: ***.Arsenio ***,Highline Motors

I am rejecting this response because:I am rejecting this response for so many reasons. A year old car should be almost new, regardless of where it was from. I reject the response because rust on the INSIDE of the vehicle - the seat belts, under the seat - are not part of wear and tear Neither is the taillight shorting out, the starter having problems nor the other issues outlines in the original letter When the car was detailed, all of the rust issues would have been discovered and known to the dealer It is correct it has been months since I filed a FORMAL complaint I had been corresponding with the dealer continuously trying to resolve the issues without having to go with a formal complaint I stand by the original complaint that the car has so many issues - a car should still be relatively "new" and not all of these issues, more of which continue to creep up - they are not "normal" wear and tear. Review: Two months after I purchased a car from Highline Motors, the front hood of the car flew off in the middle of the highway while I was driving. The manager told me that they would not replace it because "anyone could have been messing around with it since I bought the car". I was still under the Highline Motors guarantee, and yet, I had to pay for everything.Desired Settlement: Refund.
